Reviews for A Fine Life

I read and truly loved this story, especially how you so easily included their thoughts and reaction to each other. This was a perfect time of life to have them discover each other anew. I am, however, confused about the ending, though. In fact, I went back and read the story again, thinking I'd missed a part about Severus's health and how the animated picture was him?? It was hard for me to understand the ending. When she stilled the picture, what happened to his physical body? Please help me understand this., and what happened to him that required them to use the animated picture? It is a wonderful story from beginning to end. Now, where did you say you're posting stories now?

This is a wonderful story, and I'm only sorry I haven't been on Ashwinder for so long that I missed when you were posting it. I'm discovering all sorts that appeared in the last few years! This felt like quite a unique telling of this SSHG story, which is difficult to do. I really loved the tale of their family unfolding and being the focus, rather than just the start of their relationship. I liked the easy dynamic and happiness of their relationship, finding each other at the right time, and at a later stage of their lives. The children were also interesting, rather than just decorative story elements, and I really liked the detail regarding Eleri. It's true that Squibs have a rather harsh deal, particularly if their parents consider them the family embarrassment. It was plausible to see them attending Hogwarts for an amended curriculum, and I enjoyed this element of the story a lot. Your writing style flows beautifully and you have a nice knack for characterisation. I'm not sure if you're around here anymore, but thank you for your writing, I enjoyed this story hugely. Going straight into my favourites. -DV

Beautiful story. I loved every second of it. I was disappointed to see that you haven't written any more.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was the first story I ever wrote and I have written more, but I find it a very laborious process to upload to Ashwinder, so I publish on FFN under the same pen name.

This was/is a wonderful amazing story! Evoking every emotion with every word. To say I loved it would be a understatement. I also appreciate the careful editing you did before posting, I wish other writers were as precise. Missy aka LovesRickman

I've read many stories about these two in a wide variety of circumstances, but this story stood out in it's honesty. I truly enjoyed watching them find each other while still staying true to their individual characters. Watching their children grow up... Watching them work together realistically to change their world. This story was well conceived and written and I'm so glad for it. Good job and much appreciation!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for a beautiful review. This was my first fic and it's very special to me, so I appreciate your kind words.

This is the first story I’ve read written recently enough to where the author may actually see current reviews. I loved it! Though some parts felt rushed, the overall plot and writing style were amazing. Definitely a new fav!

Author's Response: Thankyou! This was my first ever fic and I've definitely improved since then, but I still have great love for this one. Really glad you enjoyed it.

What an amazing story I wanted to keep reading and never put it down this has got to be one of my top favorites stories. You captured everything beautifully, you even had me crying at the end and I don't normally do that, I coild feel what the characters felt and for someone to bring that to life is amazing. A true brilliant piece of work

Author's Response: Thank you so much for such a lovely review, it was a joy to receive!

I loved this story. I really liked how mature Severus and Hermione were--it was so much more believable because there was no manufactured conflict of Snape actually believing Hermione would be unfaithful, or Hermione being upset with Snape after they find out about Eliri. Seeing Snape get to be a kind, loving father to an abused child made me tear up a bit. Thank you for writing this!

Author's Response: Thank you for such a kind and well-considered review. I'm very pleased you enjoyed this story x
