Dearest Teddy Radiator -- you have outdone yourself with this story! I've been reading your stories for years now, but this is the first time I came across this one. I cried a number of times, especially at the end. Thank you for this magnificent story. It will stay with me for a long time.

Oh lord and lady, please forgive the multitude of typos and grammatical errors in my review! I submitted it before proofreading it. I know, rookie mistake but I was distracted by a butter pecan ice cream cone. I really wish we could edit reviews!

Oh, this is MARVELOUS! It’s such a treat for me to continue to find new (to me) quality Sevmione fics. I fell into@ the fanfic rabbit hole about eight years ago and haven’t looked back. I started with The Princess and the Frog, hopped to Naruto, and has been idling on HP, specifically Sevmione, since then. I have read Sevmione fics everyday since I found them. Seriously. I gave up television for it. I’ve never seen an episode of Game of aThrones, Doctor Who, of any of the Sherlock Holmes remakes. My DVR is empty, I think. I never check it. Anyway, back to your amazing story. This is truly a work of perfection, IMO. This is not hyperbole. It is well written, the characterizations are spot on, the dialogue clear and clever. The story was exciting, the lemons tasty, and the plot amazingly well crafted and paced. You had me going at a few points in the story and had me concerned about the HEA up until you revealed which it would be. This highlights what I love most: it is wonderfully imaginative. You even did a great job in one area I usually rant and rave about: Dumbledore bashing, primarily because you don’t bash him. You take creative license by categorizing an important part of the plot as a manipulation devised by Dumbledore but T was necessary for the plot. Most importantly, it’s germane to the story, isn’t outlandish, and is deemed necessary. The only one really upset by the ruse is the only person who has a right to be upset and everyone agrees it was necessary. Far too many other fics use a similar plot device not as a key element of the story but to illustrate what a manipulative/evil bastard Dumbledore is. Then the protagonist laments their now loss of trust in Dumbledore or they seethe about him being no better than Riddle/Voldy. Ridiculous. Using a child as a soldier? That choice was made by the PROPHESY, not Dumbledore. Dumbledore had to work with the physics of the magical world like everyone else. He also had to make sure Harry was trained and ready while trying to keep him protected. The adventures Dumbledore “irresponsibly” allowed the Trio to get involved in? That was the training. Yes, Dumbledore did predict the reactions and behaviors of those on both sides, in the middle, and on the fringe of the war and made plans accordingly to win the war. That is what a General does.

Oh the song is so lovely. And everything else in this bedchambre scene. oh Severus, lucky HG. Which melody suits it? Or has it yet to be written? Where can I hear it? I was a singer, and would like to sing again, practising an unused, raven-ish mezzo on this lovely poetry. In private only.

Author's Response: :) A repeat comment, for some reason!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! The song is actually one that I wrote (I used to belong to a songwriting guild, and this was a 'project' that eventually turned into the story. It has a strange, uneven meter, but I never quite got around to recording it. I still remember it, though. I'll bet your mezzo would sound great singing it!

Chapt. 2. Lovely, lovely chappie after you had me in tears when the first was finished. January 14. of this year has made every lament over Severus prick my heart, and the laptop was gone in a mist. I nearly gave up reading on. Missing Alan Rickman so terribly. Uhm, such a job interview... In 'Close My Eyes' he is also lounging in a chair, and well. it is hard to breathe. No wonder HG's thoughts were crimson. 'Boscobel' is also the name of the famous Oak, in which spreading branches Charles the Second hid from the Parliament troops on September 6. 1651. Avery good password for our princely Headmaster who had to hide from many armies in his own war.

Author's Response: Thank you for your lovely comments. Yes, losing AR broke my heart utterly. I still cannot watch his films. I don't mind the visuals, but that beautiful, hypnotic voice, forever silenced...it is too sad to contemplate. I did not know the story of the Boscobel tree; it has a double meaning for me, in that there is a park/golf course near where I live with that name, and the beautiful orange cat we lost in June was also named Boscobel. Knowing this story about Charles II made me very happy!! Thank you again for your lovely review.

I had forgotten about this story until it came up as a random one. When I read it again, I had to wipe tears from my eyes at Hermione's grief. I remembered that she was hallucinating, but it was still such a heart-rending series of scenes that I cried anyway. I absolutely LOVE your version of Severus Snape in all your stories, but the versions in this story, "Lay Me Low," and "Father Figure" are simply breathtaking. :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I am so glad you enjoyed this fic, and that you feel that way about my version of Severus. Your lovely words just made my day! <3

That was a cruel thing to do to me haha, I can never bear stories where he dies. The twist caught me completely by surprise but it was brilliant. I should know better by now and trust you but I almost couldn't read it thinking of what would come. I'm so glad I did, as always it was just beautiful. I look forward to reading it again without having my heart in my mouth for the first half. I can't thank you enough Teddy for all of these magnificent stories, I just can't concentrate on anything else till I've gotten through them all.

Author's Response: Jensteed, you are a jewel. I cannot express how grateful I am that not only do you take the time to read my fics, but you take the time to comment as well. That means so much to me. You're just a star.
