She’s Gone Now…

Disclaimer: Nope, nothing here is mine, except the order of the words. Not even the format or plot of this 100 word vignette is original. Of course in the chaos that surrounds us, order is everything…

She's gone now...
Our rooms practically ring with silence. Loneliness looms in all the dark corners, without her joyous, spontaneous laughter driving it away. I always knew she'd leave one day, but that awareness does little now to ease the pain. I already miss her joy in life, boundless enthusiasm, wildly curling hair a-fly.
"I cannot believe any daughter of mine would actually be sorted into Slytherin!" My wife mock-glares at me. With a superior smirk of pride, I open my arms and invite her into our bed, wild bushy hair tickling my nose as she soundly kisses me.

A/N: So... Were you fooled in the beginning, just a bit? No? Ah well, I just couldn't resist the thought of Snape with Empty Nest Syndrome. I envision this taking place shortly after their daughter's sorting ceremony.
