“Professor Snape, why don’t you do something?”

“I am trying, you silly woman.”

“Well, try harder! And don’t call me a silly woman.”

“For heaven’s sake Miss Granger, will you stop bumping into me? I need some space to work.”

“I’m not doing it deliberately. You don’t think Albus…?”

“Of course I do. He wouldn’t settle for simple mistletoe would he? There has to be something extra.”

“Wonderful! So we’ll be pulled closer and closer together unless we kiss? Just pucker up will you?”

“I refuse to give in to that old fool’s machinations.”

“Is the though of kissing me that bad? No one is suggesting tongues, Professor, just a quick peck and it will all be over.”

“Alright, but not here.”

“Where do you suggest then?”

“My rooms. At least we can have some privacy. With luck no one will see us leaving, we can break the charm and be back within ten minutes.”

“Very well.”

“If you would just take my arm, Miss Granger, it would be less conspicuous.”

“Frankly turning cartwheels down the corridors would less conspicuous than standing underneath the mistletoe for ten minutes, refusing a simple kiss.”

“Ten points from Gryff…”

“I don’t think so, Professor Snape. You can't take points off graduates.”

”There’s no need to sound so smug about it.”

“Oh, yes there is.”

“These are my rooms, Miss Granger. After you.”

“Green and silver, what a surprise.”

“That’s enough sarcasm from you, young lady. Now, about that kiss…”

“I’d hardly call that a quick peck on the cheek. And there was a definite hint of tongue there.”

“I should hope more than a hint.”

“Trust a Slytherin to take advantage of the situation.”

“How else was I going to get you back to my rooms?”

“You only have to ask.”

“It’s not as much fun that way.”

“You know, Albus’s interference is getting annoying, why don’t we just come out into the open?”

“You don’t think he suspects, do you?”

“Severus, you disappear at weekends, you come back tired but happy, and last week rumour has it you actually smiled in class. Of course he suspects.”

“It’s just so much more fun sneaking round behind his back.”

“I expect we can still surprise him a bit; just think of the look on his face when we come clean.”

“Hmmmm. Very well, Mrs Snape, we’ll tell him tonight.”

“I have very definite plans for the rest of this afternoon.”
