Now that Hermione has what she's said she wanted from Severus, it seems that she's come to understand that getting what you pray for is not always what you really wanted. I truly love this story! Beth

...oh who am I kidding, like I can just walk away from a story, haha. I'm glad she has her distance from him, her freedom. I just hope she uses it, and all she's learnt to her advantage. That she doesn't just cave and go back to him.
Author's Response: She learned a lot. Not all of it was to her advantage. |

Ah, who can know
The torturing woe,
The pangs that rack me to the bone?
How my poor heart, without relief,
Trembles and throbs, its yearning grief
Thou knowest, thou alone!............hauntingly beautiful quote. My heart breaks over this story so far, i truly believe he did not know any other way to be, but he appears to be slowly learning. I don't know how I would handle 'mione's situation. But she did learn some of what he wanted, she was much better at contract negotiations this time.
Author's Response: She's a quick study, our Hermione! |

I don't care all that much for Goethe's writing except for Faust, and I get the distinct feeling that the melody of the verses is at least in some places even better in English than in German. At least Gretchen never managed to touch me in the way Snape using her words can.
Author's Response: I haven't read any Goethe except Faust, and I read Faust specifically because I thought it would work well with this tale, so I can't judge it like a normal reader would. (My reading experience was, "That verse works -- oo, that one too -- and that one ...") |

I love it when Snape recites poetry.
Author's Response: Hermione doesn't -- but then that's no secret. |

Poor girl, trying so hard and failing so miserably. Interesting to see how Slytherin a Gryffondor can become. Though, canon Hermione can be sneaky when she wants to...
Author's Response: Oh yes -- I think Hermione has been slightly Slytherin for a while now. She'll do some pretty sneaky things if she's convinced herself it's for a good cause. |

That quote (damn you, I DO like poetry from him now) is so *perfect*
Author's Response: Converted! Yeehaa! |
