I have read this story many, many times and love its detail-filled simplicity. It just radiates warmth. Thank you, thank you. (But I would have cut the last sentence. The story is so well told that we know it's a miracle! Nuff said. |

“His awareness seeped, ebbed like the returning tide, back into his limbs.”
It is the out-going tide that ebbs. The returning tide flows. Why? It is merely one of the many lovely and fascinating peculiarities of our glorious English Language. |

very sweet. i like how you manage to cram so much story into your little one shots. no words wasted or just squandered in a profligate manner. you make very one count.
Author's Response: I live by Strunk & White's Principles of Style. This one is an exercise in "Omit needless words." Thank you so much for noticing. |
