| I have finally gotten to it! Be proud of me! I am constantly distracted, but I have made it. It took me about an hour to get through the first chapter, because of the people parading past me and my paranoia about inappropriateness of what they might read. I have been sufficiently hooked, and shall continue on to the next chapter. | |||

| cheers for responding - we do have plenty of jewish guys over here, but they're not called lester! the jewish blokes i know are called alan and sam, i don't know if the lester i met once was jewish or not, but i've never heard of anyone else by that name. it doesn't sound hebrew, so surely it must be a cultural thing rather than a religious one? cheers anyway, glad you weren't offended, i never know how to phrase these things. i loved the story. i don't know about the massive pink diamond, it just made me laugh because it sounds like it ought to be accompanied by a load of pink champagne and a pink limo - or cadillac, i suppose! my step mother has a 1.5carat solitaire (not pink), she's about 6ft tall with really long hands, and it looks like a massive piece of bling even on her, so i had visions of hermione not being able to bend her finger... shame they don't do black diamonds, for his sake :D cheers again, Lucrezia. | |||

| i admit i do really like this despite the bits that made me froth a little... i'm british and i have never met a woman called wanda, ever. i read your comment after someone else said that, and fair enough, but it seems american with a big hat on to british ears. lester's pretty bad too, but i did once meet a man called lester, so i can't complain. did her mum call hermione 'honey?' - that's just one of my pet peeves, it's not very common in england, 'dear' is a good equivalent. apologies if you didn't say it. one final little niggle - a 3 carat pink diamond? how tacky is that?! seriously, it's such a good fun story, but snape's meant to have taste. if hermione's fairly small it'll look like something that came out of a cracker on her finger. seriously though, i did really enjoy it, and everyone needs some happy fluff sometimes, and this is definitely the best of the genre. you acknowledged that there were a few cliches here and there, and i'm not complaining (honestly!). it's really enjoyable and definitely worth 10 out of 10 even complete with cheese-tastic moments. thank you! Author's Response: Well, Lester comes from my orthodontist when I was a teenager -- and yes that's very Jewish name, but you do have Jews there right? ;-) And yes, Wanda does sound American upon further reflection, but Fish Called Wanda just had to be honored. I must defend the pink diamond. There are many grades of pink. From the palest pastel to the most lurid pinks. And I know a lot of the older cut stones are much larger than what we are used to these days. A stone cut over a hundred years ago was not cut in the brilliant fashion we see stones cut like today, thus keeping more of the original stone's size and weight. I figure the ring Severus gave Hermione was probably a couple hundred years old and therefore is cut in the older style where the stone is flatter on the top and bottom. Glad you forgave me on my first try at a HG/SS fic for may of my cliches. And yes, there are some brie and cheddar moments, but let's face it, sometimes we like the cheese. | |||

| What an entertaining story! While I tend to like my Snape more angst ridden and less romantic (yes, yes, I know, I'm awful), this was a lovely change. I'd love to see the promised sequel to this, especially to see the Ron fallout. I'm a SS/HG as well as a HG/RW fan (that should be illegal, I'm sure), so I'm always interested in how Ron reacts to Snape snatching up his best friend. Thanks for posting such a fun (and hot) tale! Author's Response: Thanks for being patient with my Snape. This was my first HG/SS fic, and I wrote it shortly after I first discovered HG/SS fanfics. I was unaware until later just how cliche parts of my story were until later when I've read enough HG/SS to know better. I may just do a short story sequel doing the fall out with Ron, the stag party and wedding, just for the sake of closure and to satisfy everyone who asked for a sequel. | |||

| Loved the story. Just one question have you posted the sequel yet.? Author's Response: No, no sequel written yet. But with HBP, my inspiration for a seque has been hampered. I will do a sort of PWP inspired by the stag/hen party I had in mind then. | |||
