Thi is one of my most favorite stories and as such, I revisit it occasionally, to experience it all over again. Your portrayal of them is so beautifully written; it never fails to bring me to tears. So I will put it away again, saving it for another tme. Thank you again, for sharing your lush, haunting story with us. |

Very poetical, magical (in the more usual sense of that term) piece. However, the other reviewer was correct in pointing out that it was only in looking for Severus or Hermione that one would recognize them. Otherwise, it could be any individuals of the right age and description, non-magical or otherwise (at least till the end, when they apparate together). Still, a fine and lovely piece of work, for which I thank you. Now I'll go look at your "prequel", To The Honour of the Mother. Thanks again for your fine work. |

Very haunting and mysterious. Definitely worth the read. Is there going to be another chapter?
Author's Response: No, that was a "one shot" piece. If you want to see how I arrived at it, read "To The Honour of the Mother."

I have to say, I've read this again after many months. It is a beautiful peice, quite beautiful. Your writing conveys a sense of feeling of love and loss that still brought tears to my eyes the second time around, months after my first reading of it.
However, yes, there had to be a 'however', I think this peice would work far, far better expanded as an original work. Neither Snape nor Hermione are really recognisable as Snape or Hermione, here. Aside from two minor physical attributes which many share, I didn't see the characters here. Maybe it doesn't seem productive to give this sort of review so long after original posting. I'll admit my ideas of the characters have changed (and this also evoked images to me from 'The Twenty' which I was heavily into reading when I first read this). I think this could make an excellent orignal story, and if you were to expand upon it somewhat, give a bit of backhistory, I think this would be a lovely tale that would work better overall. Again, it is lovely as it stands, just not particularly Snape/Hermione nor particularly Harry Potter universe specific. |

Author's Response: Dear RachelW - thank you for your review. I always appreciate comments and constructive criticism, which is how we learn. However (there always is a "however," I'd recommend that you read my earlier full story, "To the Honour of the Mother," which will give you the backstory and the premise of "With Any Luck." Blessings! Niamh |
