Very interesting. I think that if that potion isn't named 'Unicorn's Blood,' it ought to be. I am a bit puzzled at Snape's determination to cure her- isn't it himself he needs to cure? If he's cured, then Hermione has no need to stay in stasis. Or rather (as I understood it) the potion 'tops up' a persons life-force from that of another person. I recall you saying the drain was much quicker by a mortally wounded person like Snape than a healthy person. So- if Snape were cured, he wouldn't need 'topping up', and they could just leave the potion in place. Or, better yet, have her take one with her blood in it, and then (assuming both are healthy) they could live normal lives. They'd die together, of course, but isn't it more romantic that way? *grin*

I wasn't clear on the nature of Snape's illness. Surely if it was merely a mortal injury, Pomfrey could have cured him in the intervening time? He doesn't seem to walking around with open wounds. Or was it a magical draining of life-force from an otherwise healthy body, like a slow-motion AK, leaving him technically dead, and animated by another's will? Which would make the potion Necromancy of some sort, and Snape a sort of vampire. *g*

In any case, the other solution that comes to mind involves Snape getting help from a very old Wizard indeed. Is Hermione's Master's name Nicholas Flamel, by any chance? Because maybe Snape should be looking to alchemy rather than potions.

Feel free to ignore my theories, of course. I'm only speculating! But it would be nice to be less confused. Thanks, Eris

Author's Response: Oh, wow, do I love concrit :) Thank you for your review! Indeed, if it confuses you, then I should explain a bit more about it. Look for a bit of explanation in Chapter 5 :) Thank you again! Ys

Very interesting. I like the original character you've inserted - Hermione's Master...did you name him? I don't think you did, but I could just have missed it. Anyway, I imagine that he is much like Severus in some ways, which would go a long way toward explaining their antipathy toward each other. Thanks for writing! ~"~

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! No, I didn't name Hermione's Master yet... It's coming in the 5th chapter :) Ys
