These are so wonderful. I recently lost all my saved fics, and so had come to your page again to re-read and re-save both Somewhere... and Looking for Magic... I hadn't read Five Stages before. Having just read Looking for Magic (which is breathtaking!), I totally imagined Snape slamming with this series - he would have won any competition. They're all wonderfully full of emotion and imagery, and it's easy to hear in my mind Snape's melifluous voice... reciting them, biting them, twisting and turning them, burning them, searing us, who, embracing his pain, dare to voice that unspoken name, our choice effectively dowsing the flame of its power - your, my, our futures to gain. (Pathetic, I know, but you did inspire me!! :D)

Author's Response: Despite my long delay in replying, I want you to know how much I appreciate your sharing such vivid images of Snape "slamming"! Thank you for such a lovely and poetic review, and I'm flattered that you enjoyed my stories enough to come back to them.

I normally hate modern verse, but found these moving and quite good.

Author's Response: Yes, I find some of the cutting-edge language poets a bit too cerebral and clever. But there is some amazing poetry--both decades old and recently published--that pays homage to feeling as well as thought and raises the hair on the back of my neck. That I like--and I hope you'll discover it! Meantime, thanks so much for reading my effort.

Your poems popped up in the randomly selected stories box today and the teaser intrigued me. I'm so glad I read them and plan to add them to my favorites. You express a powerful range of emotion.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for this review, and my apologies for not responding much sooner! I found writing these verses very cathartic, and I'm simply glad some readers have also enjoyed them.

I can't help but to return to this, again and again. Though all pieces are lovely, the one which grips me the most is Denial. The pain. The numbness. The self-recrimination. The no-no-no-no-NO feeling, summed up in "This cannot be." It hurts so much. I'm not articulate enough to express how deeply it moves me. Thank you for writing this, and posting it for all of us to read.

Author's Response: Thank you for this extraordinarily lovely review! I'm honoured that you find these poems moving and worthy of being read more than once.
