Hee hee...not what he was expecting, hmm? Your narrative in this chapter is very well done. You've done a beautiful job of using only their emotions to convey almost a physical interaction between them. Cheers!

Author's Response: Thank you! :)

Predictable. Hermione doesn't yet see the value of distance and boundaries so she basically threw him to the sharks in her thoughts. He knew better and looked anyway and now has to deal with the consequences of not being able to "unsee" what he has seen.

Author's Response: Oh, you're being strict with Hermione. I agree that she doesn't value distance and boundaries that much (she's Gryffindor, after all), but I don't think she purposely led him to see these things. (At least, I, as author, never meant for Hermione to consciously 'throw him to the sharks'). But you might be onto something... maybe subconciously, she allowed him too close to the minefield. Hermione knows that he still has trouble to understand and believe that she is attracted to him. So a part of her might have wanted him to see himself through her eyes. But certainly not to that degree. She never intended him to see her fantasies, as she's embarrassed about them for various reasons. And she certainly never meant to harm him. But now the damage is done, and they both will have to deal with the consequences...

Great chapter! It doesn't look like Several is going to be able to hold our until graduation.

Author's Response: Oh, in terms of physical intimacy, I'll make him hold out... But there are other kinds of intimimacy, which, strangely, people don't consider as important. It's a bit odd, to my opinion, because compared to baring one's psyche to another, baring one's body seems almost insignificant. And we'll have a lot more 'baring one's psyche' to come in the next chapters :) Thanks for your review!

I am enjoying this story very much. Your characters are so well drawn. Severus' insecurities make his life difficult, but given enough time Hermione will be able to make him see what an extraordinary person he is. I can't wait for the next installment.

Author's Response: Thank you, Ghislaine, for your nice comment! You will see a large part of his insecurities in the next two chapters, but also Hermione's. But the thing is, the insecurity of one can be the strength of the other, which ultimately makes for a perfect match...

Wow that was a wild ride of emotions. I don’t blame her for bolting away from him. I like the steel wall idea, I have never read about anyone writing about that type of wall. If I was SS I would not have rammed into it instead, try to freeze a small area of it the shatter it. Steel becomes brittle if cold enough.

Author's Response: Haha! Loreen, you're obviously much better in physics than I am! I had not idea that cold is the way to deal with it! To be fully honest - I needed him to be forceful to make her yielding more perturbing for both. Obviously, I was playing on the similarities between forced/welcomed Legilimency and forced/welcomed intercourse again, here, which lead to the 'disasterous' completion of the lesson. the next chapters are going to be even more of a wild ride. I'm curious to see who'll still be with me when things settle again... :)
