| I'll read the rest of the chapter later. I did not like the caning, that was not a turn-on for me. I'll come back another time to read the rest of the chapter, which I assume I'll like better. Author's Response: I feel it would be remiss of me to not warn you that the rest of this story may not be your cup of tea. If you don't enjoy the rest of this chapter I sincerely suggest you don't read any further. There is more caning to come. But if it turned you off because of Snape's attitude and the extreme pain involved, then you should be okay to read on--that scene is the "meanest" of the story. While there are more intense encounters later on, they are conducted with a very different feel and intention. But this story is not for the squeamish. I've had plenty of people who aren't into BDSM tell me they loved the story, but everyone has their own limits, and only you know yours. I don't like anyone going into this story only to be blindsided. I put the BDSM label on it for good reason, and I added that first chapter author's note/warning to emphasize the tone and content the reader could expect. This is not a hardcore BDSM story (since I'm not really into that kind of pain), but it's not really light BDSM either. It's not playful spankings and fuzzy handcuff; it's a psychological and physical gauntlet--and it has a purpose. That first caning is rough, but its main goal isn't sexual pleasure; it's more complicated than that, and it's a part of the story. While TMG has a plethora of moods and emotions, it is my most intense story to date (in terms of sexual situations). Severus is still pretty screwed up here, and he's not always calm and collected. (Of course that's part of his character arc.) I do have other stories I intend to post here that aren't as rough if you'd prefer something that goes down a little smoother. (All but one do contain spanking, but not all spankings are rough.) But quite honestly, I would never recommend this story to anyone who didn't already love Dom/sub pairings (but I'm overly cautious like that). I always want to put a giant warning up that says READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. My tastes are not always going to mesh with every reader, and I would never want anyone to read my stories if they're not thoroughly enjoying them. (I'm honestly rather mystified by people who continue to read a story they have a problem with.) There are plenty of stories out there, and I know there must be a little something for everyone. I write about what holds my interest, but I don't expect everyone else to jump on board the corporal punishment train. To each their own. I hope you like what's to come, but if it's not your thing, I understand. Happy reading. <3 | |||
