Reviews for The Toil of the Just

There is a lot of truth in what Snape has to say in this story and that makes it so scary. I would love to see even a brief sequel describing the how the world goes on without Voldemort and how Hermione and Snape(?) end up.

This story is so very imaginative and, I want to say, dark? horrible? terrifying? All those things seem a negative criticism, but I promise you, they are not. One never stops to consider that with every war there are people out there who do horrible and evil things to bring an end to the conflict, with a winner who is just and good. To know Snape embraced this, and Hermione recognized the potential in herself, was frightening. Also, I love the ideal you used for Voldemort staying alive all those years. Very smart. Thanks for a great story.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Yes indeed, sometimes terrifying is a compliment :-)

Oh my lord, I loved this story, and this Snape SO MUCH. Everyone, in fact, is just bitingly hard core (whoa! even Cho!), so determined, and so smart about it. I loved Hermione's voice - she's clearly gone through a lot, as have they all. You've made the situation of the war so much more realisitc than I've seen it done in other fics - it's f*cking WAR here and I admire that you've pulled no punches. Snape was utterly fascinating, so dark, so dangerous, so courageous. (And really, how could he not be? with the life he's led?) Just wanted to tell you that this is marvelous, and if you ever write a sequel, I will be first in line to read it!

Author's Response: Thank you! Thank you so much! I've stopped getting review notices from Ash so sorry for the delay in responding. You're so right...how could he not be? with the life he's led? I do have a sequel naggling at my mind... just have to find the guts to write it.

Hermione can't really win with this can she? Either way the story goes after the epilogue she's going to suffer and be changed in a fundamental way. Great story. Thank you

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. It all depends what you mean by "win". Do we "win" when our life goes exactly according to plan without ever doing something special? This is a world where they all have lost so much...

No flames here. I'm thoroughly enjoying this story. I've always found 'dark' Snape interesting to write, but you take him a few levels darker. I normally don't review until I've read the whole story, but I'm moved to do so now and applaud your novel ideas. Looking forward to reading the rest.

Author's Response: Good! This has been the whole story, and will remain so, unless I go on a sequel (which would be so dark I recoil a little)... I think I'll just concentrate on the Heir for now. Thanks for the review!

It's dark and very hypnotic... Nothing I've quite read before. I'm very interested to see SS/HG relationship unfold. I can imagine Snape being this dark. I like it.

Author's Response: Thank you. The relationship will unfold only if she chooses to use her dark power to save him. Not an easy choice, I'd say.
