| why is it that so many authors choose to present Harry as childish and egoistical despite the evidence from the books and present Hermione as very mature at her ripe age of 18, again despite the evidence from the books? It's not that she is childish or stupid, but her declaring herself mature because she's 18 sounds just as funny as an 8yo saying something about 'when I was little'. There is no need to change the characters that much to make them interesting, it only makes them onedimentional. The beginning of the story was quite realistic character-wise, but not the way it's developing since the moment Severus asked Hermione to be his apprentice, and now this... | |||
