That is some powerful writing. I felt my throat constricted and my chest tight as I read it. Beautiful.

NOW you stop, when the real tension's just beginning?! I suppose it was either that or labor for years on a heavy-duty multi-chapter epic, which would seem to be the only real alternative. Anyway, you got a lot of angst packed in this one little chapter--so: well done!

Author's Response: Thank you so very, very much...

I originally had the idea for a multi-chapter novel, but I don't really see myself managing it. Not at this time at least - maybe later on...

I do have Hermione's view of the events in mind, with some explanation about her leaving, but who knows when and if I'll get on with it.

Anyway.... I’m very happy you liked it, and thanks for the review!

omg why would you make me want to cry???? did you kill her....what? I need to know.

Author's Response: Did I actually made you cry? I hope not! But the story was supposed to be a sad little piece of writing... Anyway it seems a little like I killed her, doesn't it? Don't worry, I didn't... She left their friendship... their partnership... him... Why did she leave? I can't tell you right now. First because there are two possible scenarios as to the why and secondly because I have this idea to someday continue with this story and it wouldn't do to give the plot away, now would it? Unfortunately I can't tell you at this time when or even if I'll get around to write another chapter, but know this: my Hermione is not another Lily for Severus to pin after and if I do write more to this, Severus and Hermione will be a couple eventually...

very bittersweet. Glad he didn't cheat on his wife. but sorry for the pain of the unrequiteable.

Author's Response: Bittersweet, indeed... I'm happy you approve with Severus's faithfulness, because I would never do that to my characters. I could never turn Hermione into some 'other woman', or Severus into the kind of man that does that to her. This doesn't mean that Severus couldn't hypothetically cheat on his wife... (that's not to say that he does)... but IF (and that's a big 'if' at this time) he does, it wouldn't be with Hermione. He respects her too much...

Oh man. More and more authors are labeling the genres and warnings incorrectly - this needs an angst warning, please. Unhappy endings without angst warnings are unpleasant shocks for some of us.

Author's Response: I' very sorry for any trouble my lapse had brought on. The story was supposed to be labeled with an angst warning, but I must have forgotten it. I've taken care of it now.
