| Hermione's not covered by NHS? Wizards are such barbarians they doubtless don't have socialized medicine (just like us Yanks), but Herms is muggleborn; she has to be in the system. Author's Response: As I mentioned earlier, this story was never intended to highlight privatised vs. socialised medicine. I wanted to highlight the struggle that a caregiver goes through when someone they love is very ill. The helplessness and the feelings of fear and desperation are there whether she can pay for the treatment or not. And the courageousness of those fighting the illness matched against the brave face a caregiver must wear even when their heart is breaking. Whether you can pay for treatment or not, these two people fight a daily battle against death, and sometimes their love for one another is the deciding factor as to what will win - life or the illness. | |||

| Allo Teddy Radiator, you are a gem. First and foremost I would like to say that I am a huge fan of your work and yet again you havent disappointed with another beautiful fic, you have a very descriptive and emotive writing style that just takes the reader through a roller coaster ride of emotions. This fic truly touched me, and for one that has had a family member suffer with cancer as well, it really hits home. Its hard to sit there and watch a person that you know to have such a vivacious personality and a zest for life slowly grow weaker before your eyes, its the hardest most terrifying thing in the world to know that your are physically powerless. You place your faith in doctors and medication and everything is so confusing, the very cure is harming them as well, but you just want them to make everything better, so you sit back and let the experts do their work and try to put on a brave face. Sorry for getting a bit morbid there at the end but I would never wish that experience on anyone. I know that its not a song fic or anything like that but I think Permanent by David Cook is kind of fitting for this fic, give it a listen if dont already know it. But Again wonderful fic and looking forward to more chapters. Author's Response: Thank you for such a moving comment. | From the well known words of George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life, Snape will try and lasso the moon. I love it. Thank you for your writing skills that we feel the depth of love Severus feels for Hermione. I love when I can read something and I feel it in my heart. Wonderful story. Author's Response: It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favourite films, and the idea of lassoing the moon for the woman he loves is such a touching, sweet image to me.
