Reviews for Droxy's Folly

Another affecting chapter, with the pathos of Ron's condition, and the further making clear of Hermione's position. The way her money was screwed with is execrable, but hardly surprising. But a bright note was Phinease Nigellus Black, and the mutual fond respect between his portrait and Hermione. I enjoyed your dialogue, especially this line: "I didn’t come to take a stroll down inferiority lane.” Nicely done chapter, indeed.

Author's Response: Thank you - I have a soft spot for Headmaster Black, as you know from As Morning Falls! ;)

You're setting up your plot well. It'll be interesting to see where you go with this! In the meantime, "Besides, Pansy’s taste is decidedly on the Dom side," means...what, exactly? 'Dom' as in 'like a dominatrix', or what? Thanks for having mercy on a mystified Yank--and thanks for another good chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you - stgulik is a real plot hound - if a fic doesn't have a plot by chapter 3, she's outta there! Yes, Dom(me) means Dominant - stereotypically lots of black leather, boots, dark hair, dramatic makeup, etc.

Powerful chapter. You've captured Hermione's painful reality in a way that hurts to read it. But on a lighter note, what does "mardy" mean, as in "I always knew the old bat was too mardy to die."? Thanks for all your work.

Author's Response: Thank you for your wonderful comments! "Mardy" is a (predominantly) Northern word that means grumpy. It's also used in conjunction with the word 'bum' - "God, he's such a mardy bum." It just means grumpy or moody or stubborn.

Well damn, here I was, holding out hope that she'd left the baby with some Muggles... I'd somehow forgotten Malfoy Manor though. That really sucks. I actually felt sorry for Ron when he realised he wasn't talking to Harry. Brilliant chapter, eagerly awaiting more.

Author's Response: Thank you so much - Poor Ron! That was a very difficult chapter to write, but it had a lot of things going on in it, to be sure! The story is complete, so I'm posting as quickly as possible. I don't like to wait on a story, so I don't like making my readers wait, either!

Oh, poor Ron! (sniff, sniff!) And Snape had better hurry up and apologize to Hermione! :)

Author's Response: Writing this really put me in a tailspin for several days. I was in a real funk. It's one of the things you don't learn in school - killing off one of your characters makes you feel like you've lost a piece of yourself.

Poor Ron. I enjoyed the part when the house-elf helped Hermione because she is 'She.' I can't wait to read more about the former Headmasters and what they are trying to get Hermione to locate. Great work! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Noddy is pure stgulik; she did all his dialogue, and I absolutely fell in love with him. Ron was very tough to write - it truly felt like I was talking about a friend. Thank you for your lovely comments!

I'm really enjoying this story. It's absolutely heartbreaking and bleak, but very well written. Congratulations and please do continue.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying it.

The visit with Ron was heart-breaking At least he only remembers what he's lost sporadically. Most of the time, he's happy enough. It's Hermione who really feels the pain.

Author's Response: Yes, it's the family that suffers in these instances more than the patient.
