Reviews for The Heir

Erm, there is no such word as "majestuous"; it's "majestic'. And its spelled "Restoration".

Author's Response: Thanks for forcing me to keep high standards... Majestuous: it's not in the Collins so you have a point. On the other side, Dickens uses it; and wiktionary and other sites do refer to it as a bona fide English word. Majestic somehow reminds me of a hotel... As to Restauration; I chose the French spelling; inasmuch as it refers to the French History chapter... It comes from the High French Restaurar; to make better, to repare, by way of food usually... same root as restaurant* Makes sense Noble Cissa would use it; too. I understand it can disturb a reader to see unusual spellings; it does for me; did you like the story, though? Thanks again

I was away on holiday, so I was happy to find this update when I got home. What a thought provocing chapter!! And a bit confussing as well, but that just adds to the thought provocing bit. It really is wonderful to see Severus like this, the all powerful, sneaky Slytherin. But it is also sad/depressing to see him like this. I am getting more and more curious to see how this world has come to be. I am also getting more intrigued with the Black sisters. They are both a bit more different than I had thought earlier. But poor Severus, for having Bellatrix wanting him. She could easily snap. I am wondering about the 'party'. After your response on my previous review, I confess that some things were also on my mind and others slipped a bit. I will try to read the story again from the beginning, to see if things will be clearer. However I have a feeling that rereading this story will only give me more questions than answers. In some stories that is just annoying, but in this story it just makes me hunger more for the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks a lot. You're gonna have an armful of "how this world came to be", in the next chapter, with some insights on the Black sisters... As to rereading, the story is made that way that when you read it after you know the end, you discover many things that were hidden in it from the beginning. Actually it's kind of a game with my readers... The questions are meant to arise and make you curious, but now the story is ripe for giving answers, too. Thanks so much for your reviews.

Author's Response: Ok, typing on a phone keyboard is not my thing... sorry for the typos. I'm trying to take you to a place where we can check the power of individuals to influence the grander scheme of things... and each other, of course :-) thanks for choosing the story;-)

Yikes, I really don't like this wizarding world. Icky! Nice to see Severus playing everyone, but I still don't understand how he could have let Narcissa get the upper hand on him when he is more than capable of geting the upper hand on HER. And all those wanna-be Dead Eaters killing Muggles -- somebody needs to stop them!

Author's Response: As I wrote already, I think I'm heavily influenced by Europe btw the two world wars. Maybe I'm trying to see if there is a way to save a world which is spiralling itself into chaos because of some bigoted megalomaniacs... And war vets are so.... Martin Guerre. On the bright side, it's the first time in history we have SS, HM and Emery fighting for the good guys. Provided they are, and they survive, of course :-) Thanks so much for R&R

Severus plays everyone, doesn't he? I wonder if he even remembers why.

Author's Response: Oh yes, and yes. He's... firetrucked, as Iris would say, but he's very focused also... thanks for the R&R
