Oh I sure hope Malfoy's little visit doesn't cost them something in the future! This was such a good chapter. I loved your comparison of Severus to a single father and his protectiveness of his children. I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Malfoy's visit will have repercussions. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. Glad you enjoyed it.

Brillant chapter. Your ability to get inside a characters head is perfection. I enjoyed your alladin reference.

Author's Response: Thank you :)

Your insights into these characters just floor me. For me the best part was right after Draco Disapparated from Grimmauld Place. When Severus told Hermione about the nature of Hogwarts' house differences, and how he still hold to them and what they represented as thumbnail sketches, it felt absolutely right. It worked on the level of characteristics AND the truth of his own experiences. Then he followed up why he both felt and thought it was a poor idea for her to have brought Draco there with a list of reasons Hermione had not even thought of, relative to the DE children there. Wow! It all worked logically and emotionally. Very well done indeed. Thank you so much for this story. I consider it one of the best I have read.

Author's Response: Thank you! It always struck me that in every SSHG the characters are always throwing around, "Slytherins do X, Gryffindors do Y" yet 1) they never do that in the books, and 2) no one would continue to use that paradigm after they left school, unless it was an inside joke or something. But it also felt true to Severus's character that he would continue to classify people that way. Creature of habit and all that. Hermione... bless her, she means well, but like yours truly, she gets so caught up in her POV that she sometimes struggles to realize that she does not know how much she doesn't know. She's learning, though.

Thanks for another update! Although I didn't care for the Draco in the movies, it's still hard to see how far he's fallen....Can't wait for the next update!

Author's Response: In this Malfoys' case, I almost think official punishment would have been kinder to them. At least in this universe.

I hope that's not the last we see of Draco. I've always thought that he was redeemable.

Author's Response: We have definitely not seen the last of Draco.

Oh Hermione... Although I do see her point about the Sins of the Fathers. From the beginning of book six I felt that Malfoy was resistant to joining the Dark Lord completely but that he felt he had no choice because of his father being taken to Azkaban and thus becoming the man of the family - such a big responsibility for such a young age - and thus having no protection from Voldemort. I think that that whole year really made him grow up and see things in a completely differnt light - hence his moment in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Anyway, waaaay of topic here... do we see Malfoy again?

Author's Response: I personally saw a lot of parallels between Draco and the Black brothers (Sirius and Regulus). Harry sees it too and isn't as charitable toward Draco as you are. Hermione is far more generous toward him, and Severus just doesn't want to take the risk, mostly because 1) it's been years since they've spoken, and 2) he truly thinks it'll make the kids freak out if they see him. We have definitely not seen the last of Draco in this story.
