Love the idea of staves, feels very LOTR (in a good way).

Author's Response: whew! I always had this feeling that Ollivander had more up his sleeve than wands...

Excellent chapter! Very emotional and powerful. They have had one heck of an interesting day. I love the interaction between Ollivander and Hermione, anything that would confuse that man is gold to me. He always seemed to be cut from the same kind of cloth that Albus was. Kudos for the "mum" scene! Well done!!! :D

Author's Response: Ollivander's shop is one of my favorite places. So much is tied up in wand lore, and it's such a great launching pad. I'm glad you're enjoying things! The bit there with 'mum' is one of my favorite things so far, as well! Thanks for reviewing!

Oh, that was sweet and sad all at once. I loved the bonding between Gretchen and Rori. Poor Rori. She just wants her mum back! I really liked this chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, Rori has years' worth of want bubbling up and over right now. Perhaps that's just what Gretchen needs....

Oh, by the way, thank you for knowing that the plural of staff is staves. I thought only old musicians knew that one (musical staves, doncha know!).

Author's Response: :-D Thanks! I think I picked that one up at an early age... my brothers are such D&D nerds!

What a heartbreaking process for everyone, but especially Rori. Hopefully it will not only bring back Hermione, but make the family's bond stronger than ever. I'm really enjoying this story and I look forward to reading what happens next!

Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, these first few days are full of faltering stumbles, but all with the hope that it will be worth it in the end.

Interesting concept. I love Rori - and I loved that Ron triggered Hermione by nagging her. The transition from wand to staff is also cool...and I hope we see more of the magic that proved to be so potent in hiding Hermione...

Author's Response: Thanks! I think that there will definitely be a lot of what you're thinking of on the magical end to come. It is what's keeping her locked a way...

Its odd that Ollivander's wands reacted so violently to 'Gretchen's' presence. At the rate things are going, Rori ( I keep misreading it as 'Ron' ) will be graduating from Hogwarts before the curse is lifted.

Author's Response: heh, I do that too, sometimes, and I think, uh, what? ~~There's a lot of mystery to Gretchen right now, but I think Sev and Rori (and Albus and Harry and Ron etc) aren't going to let her off that easily ;-)

I agree with MsTree. She was beginning to come around have little break through's only to be set back and having to start all over. How damn frustrating. Now why on earth are the wands causing her so much stress and reacting to her in such a way is very curious. I feel so bad for Rori and Severus being on this emotional roller coaster. Hopefully it will come to a stop and they can get off for a while. Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: Well, she won't start completely over, but this is something of a trial and error process. Severus is not going to let the days proceed as they have that's for sure - there's only so many times that man can fight off a headache... Thanks for reviewing.
