Reviews for The Beginning of Truth

The tension was great in this chapter! Poor Ron has a lot of issues to work through before he can accept Hermione's friendship with Snape. I can't wait for the upcoming adventure to see Penelope and the deepening of Severus and Hermione's relationship! I love your story! :)

Author's Response: He certainly does have a lot of issues, and as far as working through them… eh, we’ll see. s50m, the adventure is about to be kicked up a notch. It’s been far too quiet in my little world. Thanks for the lovely review!

I may have said this before but i don't remember so I'll say it again: I love how you stick to the original personalities of the characters! I can picture Ron's little outburst and Hermione's reaction to it so neatly... only because you write so well and you use the right words for each of them... LOVE that about your story. Now, Snpe giving Ron occlumency lessons...?? oh gosh, i can only wonder how those will go!

Author's Response: Staying true to their personalities is something I pay a lot of mind. I might make slight allowances here and there, but I like to stay true to them for the most part. Ron is only trying to be sneaky. Snape and Ron will become like oil and water from this point on. They dislike each other a great deal, but tolerate one another because of Hermione. It makes for a rather entertaining read. We haven’t seen the last of their little triangle. So glad you like the story and thank you for reviewing for each chapter! I appreciate it a great deal.

As always, I loved this chapter. I had to take what I can only refer to as "squeal breaks" because everything was so perfect! I love Harry playing moderator and how everyone's interactions continue to be spot on. Early into this story I had a feeling that this would be one of my favourite SSHG fics ever and you haven't disappointed... it just keeps getting better!

Author's Response: I’m so glad you like the story, even more so when you say it could possibly be one of your favorites. This was a very awkward chapter for everyone involved. Ron for obvious reasons. Harry because he has to walk the fine line between the two sides, and Snape and Hermione because their ‘relationship’ isn’t much of a secret anymore. Things are about to pick up a great deal with the next chapter Thanks for the review! I appreciate it!

*snerk* There's civil and then there's "civil". Which one is Ron practicing? ^_^

Author's Response: Ron Weasley, in my opinion, is a total dolt. Rather than have another go at Snape—which we all know he would lose rather badly—he’s playing “civil.” The only question is, how long until his little plan backfires? Thanks for the review, MsTree!

I really get a rush out of any Snape/Ron confrontations over Hermione in fics. Does that make me a bad person??? Having said that, I guess I don't need to say that I really liked this chapter, do I? :D

Author's Response: No, that just means you enjoy a bit of friendly competition. That being said, you and I both know it’s not really a competition at all. Glad you liked the chapter! Thanks for the lovely review, jenidralph!

Is the house disillusioned or under a Fidelius charm? Ron's going to be a problem, I think. ^_^

Author's Response: The house is under the Fidelius Charm. As a result, Dolohov was unable to see past the protections of the charm to see the house. Even if he stumbled right up in the front yard he wouldn’t have been able to recognize it for what it was because he didn’t learn it from any of the Secret Keepers (Snape, Hermione, Ron and Harry). In my crazy brain, I look at the Charm as a sort of veil that gets draped over everything within its proximity. This veil works as sort of a barrier to any outward observer. Unless a person is invited past the barrier, they see nothing it touches. They see nothing because they have no idea what they are looking for. It makes the area and the people within it essentially asomatous.

Author's Response: Also, poor little Ron doesn't know what's about to hit him. Thanks. MsTree, for the review and for reading.

I am really enjoying Hermione and Severus's moments of easy companionship; I think they are off to a great start to having a fulfilling relationship. And I am looking forward to the next couple of chapters - I am envisioning lots of action, not to mention an irate Ron. Well done! :)

Author's Response: Their relationship is very promising. Severus, of course, is still feeling his way around. It’s been a long time for him and their relationship is fresh. My Hermione has a way of bringing out the best in people—she all but forces a person to let her in. I blame it on her infectious personality and her capacity to look beyond a person’s flaws. As far as the action goes, things are about to be turned completely upside down in my little corner of the universe (hope I didn’t give too much away)! Thanks for the review, I appreciate it!

HAHA! I loved the ending. Oooh bloody Death Eaters - they just have to spoil everything! Can't wait for more :)

Author's Response: I couldn’t help myself with the ending. It was almost too perfect. I’m sure Ron thought he woke up on a different planet when he saw those two next to each other. Ah yes, those blasted Death Eaters. They really are awful. They’re even starting to fight amongst themselves—it’s kind of like a fraying rope. Little by little, they slowly start to come apart until they have almost completely unraveled themselves. Nasty, nasty business. Thank you for the review and for reading. Next chapter very soon...
