Reviews for The Beginning of Truth

I can't wait for Snape to see into Hermione's private thoughts during her Occlumency lessons. I'm hoping that he'll see some memories that will help their relationship progress further. I'm glad that Harry is finally able to Occlude to a certain degree and I'm also impressed with how maturely he's handling this rotten situation. The duel between Harry and Draco was very unexpected and exciting. Super work and I am eagerly waiting for more! :)

Author's Response: *grins * It’s gonna be a surprise!!!! But I think you will like what you read. Harry can be an adult about things when he needs to be. Plus he gets something out of the deal; he won’t be kept in the dark about what the two of them are doing. We haven’t seen the last of Draco either. I like to keep readers on their toes, so I’ll bring in new characters at pivotal points that will have a profound effect on the plot from there out. Just remember, unless I kill a character off, you are likely to see them again somewhere and they will have a serious part to play.

Heh! I think Harry and Ron are a blatant case of "Childus Interruptus" with their timing. ^_^

Author's Response: I couldn’t help myself. I wrote the scene with Harry Apparating in, then deleted it, then wrote it again. It just seemed to fit because I still think it’s much too early. Thanks for reading and for reviewing! Next chapter will be up soon!

I love the way he comforted her after her nightmare. I hope Ron will be okay. I'm really enjoying the friendship and ease of conversation between Snape and Hermione. I really, really can't wait to see what he finds in her mind. Hehe... Thank you!!!

Author's Response: I think you will be pleased with what he sees. The two of them are still trying to figure out exactly what it is they feel. Their lessons will answer a few lingering questions and bring up a few new ones as well. Thanks for reading and for reviewing!

Another great chapter! :) I loved how Snape defended Hermione to Narcissa and didn't Obliviate her at the last minute before he left the Manor. And the bench scene was very sweet. You are doing a super job of having Severus and Hermione's thoughts and opinions progress, to enable them to move toward having a relationship. I'm enjoying this story very much. :)

Author's Response: Thank you, s50m! I loved, loved, loved writing the scene under the willow for the two of them because that is when everything changes. It’s a shame it happened 14 chapters in, but I felt a nice slow buildup would have been better than to have the two of them completely throw themselves at each other from the very start. Thanks for reading and for reviewing. It is greatly appreciated!

Great chapter titles. I found your portrail of narcissa very evil and vile, well written. It was perfect for this story.

Author's Response: You know, coming up with individual chapter titles was hard for me—maybe even more so than writing the story itself. Anyway, I’m so happy you like the way things are going. Writing for Narcissa was a challenge. You don’t really get a feel for her in the books or movies so I got to have a bit of fun with her. We haven’t seen the last of the dreadful woman. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Brillant chapter. I really liked how it was paced. Your writing skills are top notch and i am enjoying your characterization.

Author's Response: Thank you!!!!!!! The fact that you like my writing makes me happier than you could ever know. This story was written without a beta so I was nervous about posting it to begin with. To see how well it has been received by so many thrills me beyond anything imaginable. Thank you for reading and for reviewing I appreciate it a great deal!

Oh wow, I loved the scene with Hermione and Severus at the end. Throughout the whole chapter I got a sense that Severus was being her shield, how they were positioned throughout, with her behind him, his words with the gate and narcissa and then disillusioning them both. It was well woven, but certainly built up to the end where Hermione then switched roles and became the bearer of comfort for him... which I can't wait to see in the next chapter; even if it isn't there I can't wait for the next one! P.s I loved how much a bastard Severus was wtih Narcissa! Love bastard Snape in this circumstances!

Author's Response: I’m glad you picked up on that. Many people forget that he is human and he feels, though he never shows it. In my mind he is the kind of person that would keep what he is really thinking and feeling to himself, never letting it go until he found the right person to share it with. He needs someone just the same as anyone else would. Up to this point of the story he has been the protector, the shield as you said because that was a hard role for him to let go of. Once he finally let her in, he doesn’t have to carry such a heavy burden alone. The next chapter is one of my favorites and we will see their relationship blossom beyond what they ever believed it could. I also think Severus is one of the few people who can stand up to Narcissa when she has a tirade, and as you read, he gave her exactly what she deserved. Thanks, Andromeda, for the awesome review and thank you for taking the time to read. I appreciate it!!!!

Narcissa is horrible. I'm glad that Severus didn't obliviate her. Let her live with her cowardice. I'm so glad that he's willing to accept Hermione's friendship. It means that the world (of Harry Potter) is as it should be. Thanks for another great chapter to this amazing story!!

Author's Response: She really is. When I was revising this chapter, I would cringe every time she would speak because she is an atrocious human being. She’s such a coward and so self-serving to the point it comes back to bite her in the end when her little plan backfired. I couldn’t have her come out on top. Jen, my dear, thank you very much for reading and for reviewing!
