I wonder what Maxwell pulled on the Malfoys and Parkinsons ?

I have to admit that I was initially angry that Hermione would have no financial recourse for raising the twins. I completely forgot the ramifications of Ron being a Pureblood demanding custody of his wizard sons from his Muggleborn mother, but you luckily thought that through. Clever, clever author!! Now she need not concern herself with Ron at all. She can keep her distance at the wake and be gone before he has a chance to be unpleasant. Looks like Maxwell needs a little advice from Mr. Spock, "You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true." Especially with that 'old money' family of hers. He's an @$$ if he thinks otherwise. Excellent chapter!!! :D

I always enjoy your work, and I was thrilled to see more of this piece. I think Hermione's boys are an ideal anchor point for this piece, and I do hope Ron is hoist upon his own petard for being such a prejudiced snob. He was always insecure about his status and eager ... nay, greedy ... about money. I could easily see his stealing from Hermione without really paying attention to the minor details; after all, it's what he paid the lawyer for, and he would be relieved to have the ignominy of squibs dealt with. As always, I'm eager for more, but I know the muse makes its own time.

Author's Response: Next chapter is being worked on. And may I say that I'm most flattered to hear your lovely words about my stories. You're one of the authors I read (and reread) often.

In rereading this chapter I was struck anew by the arrogance of both Maureen Ryan Weasley and her grandfather. (Is his name Pat?) The phrase that jumped out at me tonight was :"You did that once before, to that Muggle girl." He believes that Hermione's not a witch, and holds her responsible for the boys not being wizards? (At least in his mindset.) Or does he know she's Muggle-born, but calls her a Muggle, since it's all the same to him, since she's not Pureblood? Since those are Ronald's kids, I'm sure he doesn't care whether the boys are Squibs or not, except as it enters into how it affects the money in Maureen's situation. Brrrr! What a cold, calculating family. Good chapter--hope the next update's soon! Thanks for all your work.

Author's Response: Yes, Patrick Ryan is Maureen's grandfather. He thinks that Hermione isn't a powerful witch, not much better than a Muggle - if she was, the twins would not have been Squibs. He's all about money and power, if you hadn't guessed. And I'm working on the next chapter!

It would be only justice if Ron is ordered to pay Hermione all of HER money that was in the their joint account when he closed it, plus the child support she ought to have been getting - and it turns out to be every last knut he has left after Maureen has gutted him. At the same time, he suffers a Quiddich injury that ends his career. Do they have the Dole in the wizarding world ?

Author's Response: Oh I have something much worse planned for the Ginger Lout.

There actually would be a way for Ron to get the boys back: if he remarried Hermione and adopted them. Not that that's ever gonna happen. Hermione has too much sense to trust the Ginger Lout again, even if Severus weren't in the picture ( as I'm sure he will be. This is Ashwinder, after all.)

Author's Response: Hmmm... Ron + Hermione back together? Naaah, can't see it.

Hermione better get first dibs on everything that Ron has. Maureen and Maxwell do not deserve a thing. I am not happy with Ron not what or how you are writing him but with the way he is acting in this story, but I like his soon to be ex-wife and lawyer even less and think they need to be publicly humiliated. Ron too but not to the degree that they do. On a completely diffident note I am so happy that Hermione and the boys are adjusting to life at the school so well.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying Varlet, and I'm working on the next chapter.
