| Winky liked Dobby? I seem to recall Winky telling Dobby he was as bad elf because he wanted freedom from his masters, as no proper elf should. Dobby took care of Winky in her depression so he may well have liked her, but it didn’t appear to be mutual. Poor Dobby, the Severus Snape of house elves, smitten by a hard-hearted female who hated his politics. By the way, why is Hermione volunteering to brew potions? Isn’t Slughorn available, or at least some seventh-year NEWT students with actual talent for potions? Hermione was good at following instructions but had no gift for the art, as her experience with the Half-Blood Prince showed. And where DOES Hermione get off using Snape’s first name, the impudent hussy! |

| Another great chapter. If this turns to a romance, I hope some time passes since she seems so like a teen (as she should considering the time frame). I like how you have set some under current things in motion (like Ron's attitude and self centeredness and Severus' grudging appreciation for Hermione's intelligence). I look forward to more. |
