I think my whole body and mind thrummed awake with that sentence as well.
The only sensation I could compare it too, was remembering reading the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop and getting to the last sentence of Book 2 "And Daemon stepped out of the Twisted Kingdom" and thinking oh FUCK! and staying up all night to drive an hour to the nearest bookstore to buy book 3 as soon as they opened.
I think if I had been reading this as you wrote it I would have hounded you unmercifully after reading that one sentence....LOL Author's Response: To tell you the truth, that is my favourite part of the story ;) I'm not familiar with the Black Jewels trilogy, but you've got me intrigued now! Thank you for your wonderful comments. It's funny; I am writing an original work, and I was asking my beta if she thought it was cheating to borrow a line from my fanfics for my original, because there are some lines I've written I'd like to get paid for! And to tell the truth, this line was the one I was thinking about! | |||
