WoW!!! I can not believe this story, but it is so, so REAL at the same time. Usually, when we have marriage law fics Severus and Hermione are fighting to get along and then end up in love. I was thinking about a marriage law fic that wasn't so "angry". This one though is so deep! I mean they are so logical and trying but have a warm passion below the surface. Now, we come to Severus leaving in wake of Hermione sharing tears in front of her friends before in front of Severus. I wonder if he remembered his mentioning earlier about not able to handle crying females to her. I bet that is why she has held it in so long, and also knowing he can not help her in this...hmmm... Excellent story so far!

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! So glad to be ticking the right boxes for you, and i hope it keeps up with your expectations!

Oh dear: they were off to such a hopeful, hopeful start, even with the glorious sex that carried Hermione through that first morning in the hall. Now all the pressures of work/school and hostile gossip suround them & they still need each other but don't know how to reach out. Hermione feels her end of the marriage bargain is to be grateful, to not complain, to not add to Severus's burdens. And Severus has no practice in relationships (and has actually acquitted himself very well, considering) - and this last scene with Harry, Ron & Ginny will just reinforce his perceptions of himself and Hermione. Oh dear indeed.

Author's Response: Sadly, that is merely the tip of the iceburg, but I hope you continue to enjoy! Next chapter by the end of next week!

I really like this story. I truely believe that much of Severus's horrible behavior is due to the incredible stress he was under and that in many ways he would welcome a chance to be relatively content in his new life.

Author's Response: YES!! Thanks for seeing it from my perspective! Next chapter by the end of next week - hope you enjoy it xx

Sorry it has taken so long to review this chapter I have been away from regular internet access. I really liked this chapter. and look forward to what comes next. I like the way you have built the relationship between the two of them. I look forward to seeing what you will do once they are in school. How the others react to her will be interesting.

Author's Response: Please don't feel bad about any delay - any response is wonderful. The next chapter will be up very soon.

To answer your response to my previous review - a teacher who spits on the ground in front of the entire school is uncouth, period (after refereeing the match). Regarding his speech patterns, I agree he's formal but that's a facade in front of the students. When we see his interactions with Filch (overheard by Harry) and Albus (in the memories he gave Harry) he's not at ALL formal. In the canon his clothing is plain and his personal hygiene is deplorable. Ultimately, I can't see him being solicitous to a student, wife or not. JKR presented him very much as rough, tough Northerner. I understand creative license in the fandom, but I personally think he's OOC here.

Author's Response: I have given you my views on his behavior. Has it occurred to you that his poor manners are the act, not the good ones? If you find my writing poor, please do not continue to read, since you have left nothing but flame reviews with no helpful criticism.

I can't buy Snape being that solicitous and formal, lol. In the canon he's very much a rough-around-the-edges man.

Author's Response: On the contray, he is presented as very formal; impressive presence and clothing, never referring to Dumbledore as Albus but always as 'headmaster' inspite of their long relationship, incredibly formal in his speech. His manners may deteriorate in later books, but considering the huge.pressure placed on him, that is hardly surprising.
