| Ah honeymoons, they never last as long as we want them to. I think Hermione needs to realize that Snape's patronus represents not only any current or past feelings for Lily, but it also serves as a reminder of the deadly consequences his actions have had as a Death Eater and the promises he made to watch over Harry and see to Voldemort's destruction. Part of me doesn't think that Snape's patronus could really change until after the war is won, though with Hermione here perhaps the process could be expedited if her love helps to replace his feelings of debt and obligation with determination and purpose. But thank you for having Hermione act as she did; it was very realistic and I personally prefer fics where Hermione is bright but still tends to act her age, not 18 going on 30. Author's Response: Thank you. Yes, I wanted her to stil be a teenager. Just because she's been forced into marriage with someone twice her age does not mean she's ready for it! I think Snape's Patronus could change in the context of fanfiction if, and only if, he fully commits to his new wife. (It would never change in canon.) | |||

| I think she rushes into the conclusion that his loyalties towards Lily have not changed, because for him it's probably more complex than that and not merely discarding one loyalty to take on another.
On the other hand I am glad she reacts as a typical 18 years old and not as someone who is always emotional more mature than he is (which is a role she has in a lot of ff). But they do have some things to sort out now. Author's Response: Oh, yes, she jumps to conclusions. She doesn't understand how ingrained S's Patronus is. Glad you think she reacts as a typical 18 year old (I didn't fall in love until I was 20, so I have no personal experience to draw on!). | |||

| "My loyalties, my affections have changed." But... a bat? Why not something else? Good change in canon, by the way. ^_^ Author's Response: Why shouldn't it be a bat? If it's cliched then that's probably because it's most likely. He's always being compared to a bat in the books. Tonk's new Patronus is obviously a wolf - would you tell JKR that's too much of a cliche too? Glad you liked the canon stuff, by the way. | |||

| I really enjoy this story and the way you're building it up and together. Their growing relationship moves at a lovely pace, despite the circumstances that have thrown them together.
