Finally! Severus' voice could wake the dead, hopefully it works on Hermione. Thank you for an intrigueing story.

Interesting twist. It seems he's making headway understanding the curse, but slowly. I hope he finds something more positive soon!

I love your story. I don't understand why no one thinks to feed her and why she doesn't ask. I can understand that she does not feel hungry but still her body is alive and requires food. If Pomfrey is so incompetent that she cannot remember to feed her patients, then maybe Hermione is better off at St Mungos where they are better organized in their care. Pomfrey seems to treat her as if she were a mannequin -- leaving her sitting up, not opening or closing her eyes. I am wondering if the part of the curse is to make the caretaker stupid. I think you have conveyed the post battle chaos well. Everything is in flux and no one can think very far ahead due to the trauma they are still experiencing. Trauma can really mess with your mind. Thanks for sharing such a great tale. I am looking forward to where you take it.

Author's Response: It sounds like you may have experience as either a nurse, EMT, or caretaker? Though I put a personal touch on my writing style, I try to stay true to how J.K.R. wrote the stories and she often glossed over the details of healing from magical injuries and curses, and never explained just how someone could be petrified or turned into an inanimate object for quite some time with little to no ill effects. So to address your concerns, I imagined that much like being petrified, it does not seem that Hermione needs food to be sustained in this state. There will be other developments that address how she could be breathing, thinking, etc. without needing to take in energy. I hate to shrug and say, "it's just magic" but... I guess that is my answer for now. I did not want to bog down the plot with detailed descriptions of what bodily functions she does or does not need to address while incapacitated. Suffice it to say, Madam Pomfrey is capable of diagnosing whether or not Hermione needs some kind of food or other nourishment and addressing the need appropriately.

Just stumbled upon this story and I have to say I love it. Your idea of Harry not seeing Severus' memories is very inventive and leaves so much room for an exciting plot.

Author's Response: Thank you! I wanted to let Severus' keep his secrets for now ;-)

I'm enjoying this story. Keep it up! Writing is great, plot is interesting, dialogue is sharp. *applause* I suspect something to do with energy or draining of energy or some sort of strange symbiotic connection with the Dark Lord, but who knows..

Author's Response: Thank you, I hope you keep reading and enjoying it! I do love to write dialogue... I'm glad you can tell!
