| Hmmm. Can't get into these types of stories, sorry. Being belittled, insulted, disdained, baited - and then getting all hot and bothered after all that? Don't buy it. No doubt there are women out there that like men like this, however canon!Hermione isn't one of them. |

| I am strongly drawn to this story for two reasons. The first is that it points up the difference between male/female reaction. If I (female) had been rejected for a position for which I had worked so hard, only to be passed over, I seriously doubt I would reapply without some positive indication that I would be welcomed. I tend to think of rejection as just that. Could any male be dense enough to believe that anyone would submit to the possibility of another rejection? Talk about masochistic.
But, a woman picked herself up only to find that others in that same society also rejected her. She went on, doing the best she could...devising a plan for future success. Do I think that destroying something so valuable as the magic circle is anything more than a childish temper tantrum?
How generous was Snape in the end? He basically got his way. My second point is: is this relationship ever going to be more than dominant submissive? Thanks for a tale which demands some hard thought. JF |
