Reviews for Hilltop Cottage

Hermione seems sad, but calm. Maybe they just needed a break from each other? I'll bet Severus isn't terribly calm...can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Severus is a troubled soul.

Maybe Oliver slipped her a roofie. She should know better than to accept drinks from strange men. And I still don't trust Alicia.

Author's Response: I don't trust her either.

I don't think it was just the prawns, Hermione. Strange how troubles follow, even over an ocean ;)

Author's Response: you're right - but then, she needs a reason to come home doesn't she?

Sounds like Hermione might be preggers. Oops!

Author's Response: mmm... sounds indeed that way.

ladyljd is right, you know: everyone WILL be better off without Severus, at least the way you've constructed him. And as hardcore mentally screwed-up as you've got him (even worse than canon, in my opinion), you can't have any kind of 'easy' fix and have it be believable. So yes, you're right, too: you HAVE made him so we hate him. (I accidentally posted this at the beginning of reviews-chpt.1, rather than here-so I'm reposting it where I'd intended it.)

Author's Response: You don't have to continue reading the story if you're unhappy with it. Severus is as he is in this story for a reason and he does change, but he has to go through a process, just as people do in real life. As for where you post the reviews, it makes no difference to me - they appear all on the same page at my end - so I got to read you comments twice for my sins!

Author's Response: I didn't mean for people to respond so strongly to him! I just tried to imagine how he would respond if he felt he was being replaced by someone else, after putting his trust in Hermione for so long... Please don't be angry with me!

Oh dear lord! How much can one man torture himself. After a few days back in Spinners End, I hope he will calm down enough to realize that he has some shaping up to do if he is going to win Hermione back. And it occurs to me that he should get a move on before she meets another wizard who isn't afraid to telll her how much he cares for her. C'mon, Severus, time's a-wasting! Beth

Author's Response: Yes... you're right!
