Your view of the future for the golden trio is utterly depressing - but weirdly I love it. I'm not sure what kind of reception you'll get if things don't end up getting better, at least for hermione anyway, ron can continue being ignorant and self absorbed for all I care. I seriously love where you are heading with this. PLEASE continue writing - I have to know that duke doesn't win 100% of the time - even if he wins in the end. |

What was that curious business with McGonagall and the tree all about? |

So basically, Duke is the de facto ruler of the Wizarding world, withHarry rybberstamping all his decisions, and now he's planning to push Hermione out. How did she and Harry come to this?
Author's Response: Through simple resignation. They'd already fought a war against the Dark Arts, and they had not the energy nor the willpower to fight everyone else, as well. Duke was the stability that the Wizarding world wanted, and Harry and Hermione simply succumbed. But really, when has the Wizarding world ever been particularly knowledgable about what was best for them? We're talking about the people that believed Rita Skeeter ;) |

Very powerful first chapter! You sure had the tension high and Hermione's frustration was palatable. |
