| How absolutely wonderful this chapter is! The panoply of emotions you're able to evoke in a relative handful of words is amazing. I love that Severus is facing his feelings for Hermione so directly. My first favorite sentence here came at the end of his reflections on his mother: "But… as a small, unhappy boy, he’d have wished for a mother like Hermione." I think his feelings are struggling up from his unconscious into a greater awareness of how he does feel about Hermione. On the other (Hermione) side of things, my other favorite sentence in this chapter came while she was lying next to him, near chapter's end: "Still, what a lovely way to awaken, feeling both coddled and desired— and by Severus Snape." Just a lovely chapter, my dear. Thank you so much for your beautiful writing.
