| This chapter was akin to a climax all the readers have been holding in while reading this story. I thank you for the perfectly written sex scene. And I got quite teary at the end. | I've always understood it that Dumbledore didn't plan for Severus to die rather that by him dying willingly rather than by force would be end of the power of the Death Stick. Of course Draco intervened and the rest is history.
Lovely chapter, of course. Every chapter I read, I wonder about the prologue more and more. What has to happen for Hermione to go back to calling Severus "Sir"? And as much as I keep on wanting chapters, now that we're nearing the end.... I keep on wanting the story to not end! Author's Response: To be honest, I think there are several possible interpretations of the end of the story, and each one (including the one I chose to go by) has plot holes. I think JKR contradicted herself more than once regarding the Elder Wand, which drove me crazy trying to figure out which interpretation I wanted to use! I'm glad you liked the chapter, though (though Hermione doesn't call Severus "sir" in the prologue, she is more formal with him :-) | |||

| Wonderful chapter, as always! I love the way that you write his insecurities and yet keep him in character! This was such an important moment in the story and it was beautifully written - complete with the revelation at the end of the chapter that AD had been preparing to make Severus a sacrifice all along. Fantastic. I wait with baited breath for Gringotts and the aftermath... and hope that he is able to help her in some way. Please keep writing -- this is a brilliant, brilliant story.
