Thank you for writing this story- rape and sexual abuse of all kinds are so often glossed over in fanfic- or even *glorified*, which is just horrible, and so terribly wrong. Well done for bringing such a strong, socially relevent message to you story.
Author's Response: Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. :) |

very delicately handled! your insight into the pain, shame, fear, self loathing, and lasting sexual effects,is spot on. this is an issue that many women bave to face, unfortunately. some of us never do tell our mothers.
thanks for a very sensitive story.

Author's Response: You're very welcome. Sometimes things are best left unsaid, but then again... It's just hard to handle either way. |

I, too, went through something similar when I was Elizabeth's age. The perpetrator (for lack of a better word) was killed in prison by the other inmates who had heard that he was a child rapist and murderer. I've never felt the least bit guilty about it, either. It was a relief.
And I love how Severus' mind works in your stories. :D
Author's Response: Thanks so much. I hate those who hurt children this way (any person forced to do something like this). |

Very powerful story! I have never been in that sort of situation either as a child or a parent and can't say what I would have done, but I can completely understand their actions!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading. :) |

I had to wait until my father killed himself, but if a child of mine would ever go through that, I know exactly what I would do...
You're right about this story not being a nice one, but it is a damn good one. People take this stuf way too lightly. Thank you.
Author's Response: Hey, thanks for reading. I appreciate the comments. xoxo |

Wow amazing really and courageous. After reading your note and readign this I give you a lot of praise. I am a mother of two children myself a boy 11 and my daughter 2 1/2 and I will have to say i don't know what I would do but i know for damn hell I would want to do just that.
are you continuing this story or leaving it as is?
Mariann
Author's Response: I'm going to leave it as it is. :) I don't want to tamper with my "message" any more. It's hard to think what we'd do in Hermione's shoes, but some sort of reckoning would be had. |

Too easy. Though maybe it's better that way. No attention. No chance to make excuses. Just gone.
Author's Response: And nothing to tie them to it. :) hehe |

Having been in a similar situation when I was about Elizabeth's age, I can completely sympathize with how she must have felt. Only I wasn't as lucky, as my mom chose to ignore what was going on. But I'm glad that Severus intervened and handled Charlie his way ... Elizabeth would have been even more miserable to see her mother land in Azkaban over what that bastard did to her. Slytherin subtlety definitely was the better way to handle this situation.
Author's Response: See, I never get how some mothers and family members do this (turn the blind eye). I've vowed to never do that should the scenario happen. Thankfully, it hasn't. But I know all about "covering it up" and such. All I have to say is that also damages the child. And yep, Snape had the right of it. Hehehe. Thanks for reading. |
