What a wonderful description of the Room of Requirement awakening to their dilemma!

Author's Response: Thank you :) Writing from the Room's POV was really fun.

???? Huh? I don't understand! The headmaster said?

Author's Response: Maybe a typo? I'll check...

You've achieved what no one ever has for me, and made Trelawney uncanny.

Author's Response: *grins Trelawney scowls and shuffles off...

On the other hand...you did divide the Horcrux damage among seven.... Hmm. Maybe I'm starting to get an idea of what, or whom, each of the ill people needs.

Author's Response: *shifty eyes :D *hugs you

Hmm! I don't really believe this is where you're going to take your story...but it occurred to me during this chapter that the younger folks are all suffering because of guilt over not believing in Snape, and their symptoms will alleviate when they all give him his due and feel the rightness of it. But maybe that's just because I've been trying since the publication of Deathly Hallows to work through my own sadness at Snape's end.

Author's Response: I know, I know. Me, too. But. Keep your eye on Snape. The balance and symmetry here is going to be very important as this unfolds....

Loved this chapter! This story is a bit like a tangled ball of yarn. You straighten out one bit and then you find another tangle. But you feel so good when you have untangled one bit that you are more than ready to untangle the rest. I love watching this story untangle/unfold. Thank you!

Author's Response: Why thank you! :) Love that analogy!

I haven't managed to get very far in this story before, since, in an abstract sort of way, it feels uncomfortably close to what I am trying to escape through gluttonous consumption of SSHG fics. I thought I would try again, now that my life is somewhat stable, if not particularly pleasant, and I'm on new meds. I'm glad I did. One thing that sets your writing apart is your ability to convey, quite intensely, amorphous feelings. The overarching gloom is palpable, and the deluge of desperation saturates everything. Then there is just a tiny glow of hope, feebly tinting a few clouds to match the same tone as burning coals. To borrow a term from sound recording, you write with an impressive emotional dynamic range.

Author's Response: Ah. I can understand how the themes here might be painful if you are struggling in day to day life with similar issues. i'm so sorry. I hope you are feeling better, and am glad you are well enough to read and enjoy the story. I know that the gloom has been intense here--the evil perpetrate by Riddle and the creation of the Horcruxes demanded nothing less. But hope is burning through... so hang in there. It's going to get better. Thank you for your kind words about my writing and how I convey emotion. It's something that I value very much in certain others whose work I admire, and am thrilled that you find it so palpable in my work. *hugs you gently... More is coming soon.
