Brilliant. Exactly what SS/HG should be. I have to admit that I am rather partial to happy endings, but it's the tragedies that are most poignant.
Thank you for sharing this.
Author's Response: Thank you very much. :) |

Bittersweet and beautiful, though I have never thought that Hermione will be a Strawberry type of girl. Thank you very much.
Author's Response: She starts Hogwarts at just shy of 12. I'd been thinking about the shampoos--smelling of vanilla and fruit--Mums buy for pre-teen girls, because my daughter was at that age when I wrote this. And I can see Hermione keeping her muggle shampoo throughout school, both for comfort... and as a little muggleborn defiance. |

At first I was intrigued simply for the scents not typically ascribed to Hermione in fandom... and I was even more blown away by the simple, poignant power of this-- in so few words, too. Great work!
Author's Response: Thank you! I considered what scent could carry her from age 11 to 17, neither too perfumey for her 1st year, nor too girlish later (I have an 11-year-old, myself - jasmine, the scent I've most often run into in connection with Hermione, wouldn't be it.) ...so there you are. :) |

The morning read of the sad, melancholy thoughts of a character that left under other than conditions I would have preferred. Very nicely written.
Author's Response: Thank you very much. :) |
