Thank goodness for that last line--it made the story! I enjoy your work. Another "10" for you! |

Brilliant use of Sod's law to justify a kiss! I really enjoyed this. |

Yes, Deeble is one of the greatest...and your Americanisms only expands the vocabulary available. |

I don't know how I missed this story but dear god it's amazing. Terrible to imagine the situation everyone is in in this AU realm but this is a powerful little story. |

This 'random' was in its own way like finding a grubby little gem unexpectedly in the rail car Snape and Hermione found themselves. Precious and quite nice! Thank you. |

Sophie, I've been reading your fics for the exchange in the last few days. I'd already enjoyed the Janus Thick Ward, then I read The Fifty-Third Thursday (or was it Tuesday? anyway) and then this. I think it's a little masterpiece, worthy being a short story in itself. I've read it twice, the first (of course) from Snape's POV, the second time from Hermione's. Her speech in justification of her kiss as a solution to Sod's Law is so absolutely brilliant, as well as the overall tone. You seem able to get inside the characters' brain and under their skin in a way unreachable by myself alone. And Snape's musing about what a "nobler" man should have done - and then listing the very facts that make him noble - is another pearl. Thank you. |

I like the mundane griminess that you depict in your stories. There is a feeling of tiredness; not despair, that would be too much effort, but just two people plodding through life. And yet, with a bit of tweaking of circumstances, you feel that things just might improve a tiny bit. Perhaps. So there is hope. Not much hope, and it is a bit grimy itself, but it will do.
It makes me feel that my life might improve without me having to create something exceptional in order to achieve that improvement. Thank you. |

This is a gem of a tale. Funny, poignant and utterly charming like its protagonists. |
