| I quite enjoyed this, and I adore the description of the dress! I love to watch ballroom dance competitions, and the style of the last few years has been 3/4th of a dress, held on in 2 or 3 places - hip and bust, shoulder optional. Generally in lacy or sparkly stuff. They do look literally as if they are held in place by magic (or staples or elastic). Needless to say I have a very clear picture in my head of the Red Dress. Lucky, lucky Snape... Author's Response: Wow, you get the gold star! I think you're the first person who's correctly guessed the inspiration for Hermione's dress. I was indeed thinking of the 3/4 dress that now often gets used for rumba (and sometimes samba) in ballroom dance, because yes, they are both beautifully sexy and mind-boggling. your stories are great and so is your writing. some authors miss that certain something that makes a story really well done, but you certainly are not lacking in that.
