I have pretty much stopped leaving reviews on this site, but I'm enjoying this story so much. I was concerned that you had let Severus die but you've let him live, marry Hermione, and be a father. I've been struggling with my own writing and haven't been happy with reading much either but this story has kept me coming back. I'm glad I found it and I'm sorry already that it's so short. Excellent job so far.

I read The Mousehole Cat too, so I know that the locals pronounce the name of the town as "Mowsle". Just a little tidbit of useless trivia. :-D

Author's Response: Yes! :) I just found it really kind of cute, and the pics of the town on the 'net show such a quaint, lovely town. I couldn't resist using it! Thank you!

"The phoenix that brought you here". Oh, of course! The tears of the phoenix are a cure for poisons, and it can carry many times its own body weight! (CoS) So that's how Severus got away from the Shrieking Shack!

Author's Response: Yes, exactly! :) Thank you so much!

One of my favourite books that I used to read to my children was "The Mousehole Cat", so the reference to the village conjured up visions of cats and lots of fish. But I digress from the story - I'm glad that at last somebody has introduced Eileen into a story. There was so much we never knew in canon, and I think your picture of her is very credible. I expected a darker story after the prologue, so this is turning out a little different to what I expected. But I have no complaints!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying the story, especially Eileen. I really grew to like her as the story progressed. I shall have to find The Mousehole Cat ... my children might enjoy it. :) Thanks, again!

I love the Brit-speak that i ( as a Canuck) pick up in reading the beautifully Brit-picked stories here. "Mousehole's pronunciation reminded me of an episode of Torchwood with the Town/Village of Splott was corrected by one character as being said as "splow" yes, I admit I was a Her-me-owne pronouncer until book 2 lol......

Author's Response: Yes ... I fall in that category as well! :) Which is precisely why I included that bit of info that my Brit picker so thoughtfully provided. I couldn't resist the idea of him hiding in a town named Mousehole--even it is pronounced differently! LOL Thank you so much for reading!

Wonderful reveal at the beginning of this chapter of the mysterious woman nursing him back to health---it's about time Eileen made an appearance in one of these sagas! And how great that she has gotten her life in order; I'm very curious about this mysterious baking business (you have sparked some evil thoughts here, but I shall reserve judgment!). I'm guessing that his being sent to her was perhaps Albus' final gift. But I'm wondering if she herself might have had something to do with the guest who stands at his doorway, waiting to get past this evil cliffie and reveal a startling piece of news to Our Hero? (By the way, I love her believing that he actually likes porridge. I'm also very glad she didn't have to resort to "here comes to airplane" games with that spoon to get him to eat. Though if anybody could've pulled that off, it's you!)

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm so glad you liked Eileen. She was a lot of fun to write, and there will be more of her subsequent chapters. I really liked the "porridge" sequence, too, so I'm thrilled that you noted it. I don't think anyone could pull off "here comes the airplane" with Snape. LOL Maybe in a crack!fic. *ponders* As for whether or not she has something to do Hermione's sudden appearance ... you'll find out soon! ;)

Great job! I wasn't too sure after the prolog, but I've really gotten into this story!

Author's Response: You were afraid he was dead, perhaps? Never! LOL ;) I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying it. More to come very soon. Thank you!
