Great story. WOw I guess one sould virus out the Wizarding World, they seem stuck in the 1800's.

Sigh! A lovely ending, but definitely also a tale that could go even farther. Will Severus find a way to help those children. Will Hermione be able to be a part of that with him, or will they be forced to separate again. Lol, yeah, I'm getting carried away with the possibilities here. I can't imagine her apprenticing with anyone else not after her reaction to Slughorn, but depending on how you envisage the world, apprenticing with Severus could put them right back into the same position he resigned in order to avoid. And I'm waffling again... Thanks anyway to both you and to the random story facility for filling perhaps a little too much of my Saturday.

Dumbledore really never got Hermione, did he? There are so many causes and/or people she would consider at least as important as her studies, but I guess maybe now he'll begin to understand.

Oops! First something I meant to say about last chapter but then forgot when I got to the 'break up' scene at the end. I was really surprised at Hermione choosing Disneyland. It seems very much like ramming down Severus's throat just how young she is. Also, at eighteen she couldn't have legally learned to drive two years earlier as you have to be 17 in the UK to get a provisional licence. Now, to this chapter... I'm so glad that Severus found the man he was looking for, but it seems as if resigning was rather premature when he seems to have done it so quickly that taking a leave of absence might have been sufficient for his purposes. It also seems to have happened so quickly that in retrospect spending all that time holidaying with Hermione now looks rather self-serving if he could have used his holiday to effect the same result. Now, let's see how Hermione has been getting on without him...

I don't think he's right about her forgetting him, but if she did, then it would prove beyond doubt he was doing the right thing. At this point, aside from all the other reasons to go like the fact they can't continue as they have, the break from each other will either prove that their feelings are real, or allow them to move on.

Sigh! I just have this feeling that they're pushing their luck a bit too far...

A gentleman would have walked her back. I mean I can see that being found with him at three in the morning would probably be worse than being found sneaking the corridors alone at three, but... And poor Severus is really going to beat himself up about this when he's sober. You just know it. He's tried and tried to avoid anything happening and Hermione has pushed when his inhibitions were at their lowest ebb, but that wouldn't be how his peers would see matters. And there is still, if I remember rightly, six months of the school year to go. I can't imagine that this Hermione will accept it graciously if he tries to distance himself. She seems a little too immature to realise that however difficult it is, waiting this out is the best option if they hope for a long term relationship. She doesn't just get carried away by her feelings, she engineers situations she knows she shouldn't. Gah! Waffling so I shall rush on and read instead of speculating.

Wow! This is a double-edged sword. The discovery is a wonderful one, but sooner or later I think the potion's constituents will have to be known.
