"I wonder if the second was sadder because he was really dying" Interesting...I thought it he just meant that being alone was worse than death. So he was really dying? I thought it was a metaphor. Then again, isn't that what's great about fiction? We can make our own interpretations. BTW, I enjoyed these. Thank you.

Author's Response: He was really dying. The idea is that he had a heart attack and because she was gone from his life, he let himself die, whereas she would have harped on him to take his medicine. But yes, feel free to make your own interpretation! It's meant to be somewhat vague. Thanks for reading and commenting!

I thought this was beautiful. You have the heart of a poet. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Author's Response: Wow. Thank you so much! I'm working on some more drabbles in the same vein as this that will probably go up soon. I hope you'll like them!

This was absolutely breathtaking. Very poignant lines. Brilliant work.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! What I love about drabbles is that all the lines must mean something. If you only get 100 words to say it, you'd better use those 100 words for all they're worth. I'm glad it worked out this time. :)

The dusty Muggle medicine is such a beautifully subtle hint that it's really suicide, that he has allowed himself to die of a broken heart. You do write tragedy very well, my friend.

Author's Response: Okay, so I confess I was really hoping you would read this, because I love the way you do painful feelings between these two, and I wanted your opinion. The Muggle medicine, for me, was sort of the apex of the entire moment. I envision her getting it for him, all full of excitement that she has a way to keep him healthy, to keep his heart from failing. But of course he spurns her help, spurns her. And then instead of throwing the damn medicine away or actually using it like he should, it gathers dust. He can't get rid of it, but he's also too stubborn to accept her help. He knows his death is preventable, and he chooses to have a broken heart. Okay, I'm ranting. But yes, I completely agree with you, and I'm so glad that part appealed. Thanks!
