The story is good, and thank you very much for the Snape's character. Though it's unclear why pureblood girls were restricted from Occlumency and Legilimency if they were immune to the decease. Also Severus (no doubt) is too harsh for himself - hadn't he been a teacher in Hogwarts since 1981 when he was 21? No Voldemort in his 24th. |

Such an enjoyable read; thank you!
Particularly appreciate in-character portrayals of these characters some years into the future. I was several times irritated w/ Hermione's thoughts/behavior but, really, that's due to her being realistically portrayed as both flawed and (more importantly) different from me.
I wanted to just say, finally, that the issue of moving on after the loss of a partner was handled delicately and complexly. My cousin died several years ago, leaving her widower and two small children. They had been together since she was a teen. When he remarried less than a year later many of the family were outraged. Our grandmother immediately expressed the approving opinion that of course he needed to find a woman to care for his children (eye roll). Her sisters/parents were inclined to feel betrayed.
It has been a beautiful/heartwrenching/hopeful thing to see him and his wife obviously love one another and their combined brood of children. My cousin was the love of his youth, and his new wife it seems is the partner and lover he needs now.
That dissonance you gave Hermione here between grieving for the one lost yet being grateful and so happy with someone else is so real. One of those aching parts of live. |

I'm surprised you don't have Hermione exhibit some outrage that such powerful skills were forced into obscurity when it would have been perfectly safe for witches to learn/practice them, even if the old pure blood families wouldn't admit the problem was in their breeding it was clearly a risk only to wizards. |

I don't know why I just now found this story, but it was wonderful. It wasn't rushed or out of character. I love that it wasn't an "oh by the way Ron died tra la la" sort of story. Great work!!! |

What a lovely story. I know it's been a while, but you should know people are still reading and enjoying it immensely. |

great concept, good execution and a really really solid plotline. didn't suffer from the "and then they get together and the plot goes out of the window" syndrome |

Thanks for mentioning RNA interference. I have relatives with Huntington's disease, and I will definitely look into the chance of getting them into a trial program. |
