Reviews for Tonight You're Mine Completely Part II

Valkyria Prince2009.02.13 - 01:37PM1: Some Dreams Do Come TrueSigned
I am enjoying this sequel very much. If you are in to the more practical side of Arthurian/Merlin lore I suggest you read Bernard Cornwell's WARLORD TRILOGY. It follows the fictional character Derfel (Pronounced Der-vel) as Arthurs best mate, Lancelot as a gilderoy Lockhart with a cruel streak and Merlin with Nimue as The King that Never Was tries to unite all Britain and defend from hordes of Saxon (Sais) invaders. It is a long and wonderful story from the time Derfel is about 15 to the cliffhanger/respectable ending when he is an old man. It pertains to real Druidism, illusion and lots of war and love. It's not a mystical, enchanted type fantasy. Sorry for my extensive non-review related digression. Keep up the great work! Izzy

Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing, and I am pleased you are enjoying the sequel. The next chapter has been with my beta since last year. It was written finished during the mind numbing times and she doesn't like it very well. I haven't gotten the chapter back yet. So maybe she gave up on me. Anyway my life is getting back on track. March 8 the love of my life will have been gone for one year. It really was a struggle to continue the story, but I want to. And, now I have someone in my life again who is just as wonderful but in a totally different way. I think the next chapter had too much symbolism in it. It depicts Severus' struggle with himself and his past. He is so deeply tied to his past that I couldn't continue without reconciling his feelings with Lily. I am going to Cancun again the end of April - the Margaritas always get my mind working. Thank you again. joannie

It feels like Severus is reliving some of his past through his interactions with Hermione, perhaps to better move on?

Author's Response: Hi septentrion, I loved your LJ pictures. You have probably updated so I need to go back and check it again. How of perceptive of you. Yes, you will see at the end of the next chapter that Severus is moving on. Thank you for leaving a review. *smiles* Appreciatively, joannie

I can't wait to see more

Author's Response: Hello again, Thank you, thank you! The next chapter, as you can probably guess, will have a lot of Lily and Severus, but there will still be some Hermione and the Professor. Finally , they are beginning to see each other in a different light. Live and Love Every Day. joannie

I went back and reread Part 1 and then the first 3 chapters of Part 2 today. It's a very interesting story. I love your writing and the way you develop your characters. Looking forward to your next update.

Author's Response: I am totally overwhelmed that you went back and read all the chapters. Thank you for leaving me a review. It really is the only way to know if what one is writing is what readers want to read. The next chapter is still with my beta and the one after that is almost ready to be sent to her. I regret the lag, but I am comma inhibited and can not pass the admin comma test without help. I am pleased that you enjoy the way my characters are developing. That was my intent - to give the characters reasons for doing what they did - which makes for a longer writing but I feel gives it a purpose. I'm not big on student Hermione/Professor Snape stories given the climate of our times. I can see Professor Snape musing over student Hermione, and Hermione becoming aware of him as more than a her teacher, but as Dumbledore said in chapter 7: ...as long as she is your student you must maintain a 'hands off' policy... Yes, of course, I have read those stories, and I am not condeming anyone who writes them, it is just that I can not in good conscience do it. Thank you very much. Appreciatively joannie

This is a great story. I can't wait to see what happens. Please update soon!

Author's Response: Hi, thank you for reviewing. It makes it easier to gauge whether you are writing what anybody wants to read. I worried about the Lily aspect when I started this story before we had as much knowledge of Lily as we do. It just felt right to me, but I didn’t know if anyone else felt the same way. The next chapter is with my beta. I'm sorry for the turn around time, but it does help ensure that the chapters have fewer errors and reads smoothly. Appreciatively, joannie

No review yet? How unfair. I like how Severus comes to the realisation, which is much more than the knowledge, that his relationship with Hermione is special. I only regret you don't update more often, but I guess real life interferes too much with your writing time.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review. Yes, slowly, Severus is coming to this realisation, but he has to reconcile his feelings for Lily. It's been a long time, but he still loves her. The thought of someone taking her place is to him absurd. joannie

Very cool how it jumps right in. Thanks for writing and I am looking forward to the rest.

Author's Response: I am so pleased you enjoyed my little tale enough to leave me a review. Thank you. I've started putting pen to paper again and am picking up the pieces and getting on with my life. Now, I can truly say I understand how Snape feels over losing Lily. A chapter should be going to my beta this week.

Enjoying this very much! I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. One Britpick though, a very small thing bu a very big difference in meaning! You wrote 'then Bella and Cissy knocking me up...' but in the UK 'knocking up' is a colloquial term for 'making pregnant' so in my mind, that phrase belongs to a very different kind of HP fic!

Author's Response: Thank you for pointing that out. I will reword it. Maybe that is why I get odd looks when I use that phrase. My DH is forever pointing out my odd Guernsey county colloquialisms. Thank you for reading and reviewing. joannie
