Funny how with all Hermione's intelligence and assertions that she is not a stereotypical woman, she ends up behaving like one. All the effort seems to be on Severus's side, while she just accepts it, she starts lecturing him on his relationship with Remus, she declines his marriage proposal, because he didn't say he loves her, but she doesn't have the guts to ask him about it before declining. If he didn't say it in the moment, they would have gone their separate ways just because she wasn't brave enough to say it first or ask him why does he want to marry her. |

| I read this story quite a while ago, so I don't remember the particulars. I'm guessing, however, that Hagrid couldn't help but mention in someone's presence that he had to help Hermione's Crookshanks with Professor Snape. If it isn't directly in front of Harry or Ron, they'll certainly hear it from someone else, and the two of them will bother Snape. Just guessing...! |
