Reviews for Silly Little Girl

I find drabbles so difficult to read (to be honest I usually avoid them like the plague) but this? This blew me away! I am literally shocked at what you have created from 100 word snippets, I've read stories ten times the length that just didn't have the heart that was written into this. It was a drabble masterpiece and I'm desperately glad I read it. My absolute favourite part in it was literally one word, to me it just stood for so much else that was unanswered. "Furniture?" I can't fully explain why but it jumped out at me. This was a pleasure to read and I can't thank you enough!!

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a lovely, eloquent review. I'm especially gratified that you found this drabble series readable and comprehensible. I agree that so often drabbles are done poorly. I think they're fabulous warm-up writing exercises; they help me hone and focus my thoughts.

A fine story that really keeps the reader on her/his toes. One almost needs the Marauders' Map to keep track of where the characters are! This is NOT a complaint. Very well done! I loved it. Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. This was initially a one-shot drabble I wrote for the Granger-Snape100 community on Live Journal. It received a huge response and I developed it from there. I actually rather enjoyed distilling a novel-length concept into bite-sized pieces.

I've read this before, but just came back for a re-read. I love drabble series, there is just something special about having only that 100 word limit to work with for each bit of the story. It really makes you think carefully about how to craft your words into something meaningful. You have surely done a wonderful job here. loved it just as much the second time around. ;)

Author's Response: Thank you! It was a drabble I posted at GS100 on LJ, and the response spurred me to let it grow. It was a very good exercise in organic plot development, and it also taught me the pitfalls! In some ways, its complete, and in others its a blueprint for a more fully developed story. I'm so delighted you enjoyed it enough to let me know.

Generally i find drabbles set in 100 word segments choppy, but this time it elped the mood and worked. Good job.

Author's Response: What a lovely thing to say. It's one of my less than successful bits, I think. Sort of the bones of a good story, but not quite fleshed out -- which may be the fault of trying to do too much in a drabble format. Thanks for your feedback.

Intriguing story, and the somewhat disjointed way it is presented is efficiently jarring and suit the tone of the story. Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you as well. It is disjointed; I was working on a drabble challenge. If I squint, it might just be the skeleton for a decent story!

somehow... think that whole thing just went over my head... aided no doubt bt the time. 1:07... i'm goimg to have to read it again when i am not so groggy...

Author's Response: I think any deficiencies are the writer's fault, and you have my apologies if it seemed disjointed. The piece began as an answer to a drabble challenge and then I got a bit carried away. It was my first real attempt at a drabble story. Thanks so much for being honest. I appreciate that more than I can express.
