Reviews for Return of the Fairy God-Jarvey

Guinnevere2006.09.08 - 04:33PM4: The Gryffindors Must Be CrazySigned
::Sniff!:: I had forgotten, in the general mirthful aura surrounding this story in my memory, just how touching it was as well. Even after a number of years, Severus' heart is like a barely-scabbed over wound, and Reggie is such a perceptive little gal to know that a chat with the Headmaster, even in portrait form, would be the best therapy for him. Guess that's why she's the Master Fairy-God Jarvey (...Provisional) here. Good job.

The Gods Must Be Crazy is one of my all-time favorite movies. And I thought you wrote Ron very well. (I DO know people like that, all male-- fancy that!) References to Dumbledore as the Candy Man in the last chapter, if indeed they occurred, flew right over my head. It's a good one! I like it a lot! The fast deconstruction of the "comfort Hermione" mission was hysterical. Well done, good dracontia, well done.

Author's Response: Yes, I tend to think dear Ron is, in many ways, rather the 'standard issue male!'
It wouldn't have been hard to miss the 'Candy Man' reference in the previous chapter--it was a single line, just enough to suggest where Reggie was taking Severus. I figured she could make up for it in this chapter. :-)
That movie was a work of genius. It's a shame they had to make an inferior sequel--which is why I took so long about writing a follow up to the original Jarvey story. No use killing the franchise! LOL Thank you kindly for the review!

Oh yes, I have a "Ron" in my life and I love him dearly, but his best form of comfort is getting the Heath Bar Crunch Ice Cream and not saying anything....

Author's Response: If he knows enough to get Heath Bar Crunch and wait for the worst to blow over, I'd say he's an absolute gem! :-D

Another good chapter. As you've said, Harry and Ron are doll-babies and I love them, too. That doesn't mean I don't think they could use a few decades of instruction on How to Talk to Witches Tactfully. Or even, How to Avoid P.O.ing Hermione Granger. I must admit that, secondary to 'shipping Hermione and Severus, however, I like the pairing of Harry and Ginny. So it's always with a little sigh that I find them having Moved On from one another in fan stories. Luna's a nice match for Harry too, though. Good job. More, please, quickly!

Author's Response: Ah, yes... a twelve-year course would do them a world of good! :-D Or maybe just marriage to a witch with the gentleness of a dove, the wisdom of a serpent, and the patience of a saint!
(As much as I like Hermione and Ginny, patience of a saint they have not! And I don't think I'd place any bets on gentleness, either--certainly not with Ginny.) Thanks very much for reviewing--glad you're enjoying the ride!

Black canaries and a Stinging Hex in the aftermath of Perfect-Storm Hermione. Clearly, the wind speed has only gone down from 10 to 6.5. In the best of all possible worlds, she'd be a Tropical Breeze before Reggie gets Severus back there. hmmm, is that possible? Really, it's good of her loyal friends to show up so she doesn't direct any (more) of her anger at herself (or her library). I am wondering what Ginny thinks Draco can accomplish. I'm enjoying this hysteria so much. Thank you for updating. ~casey

Author's Response: LOL The weather metaphor is brilliant, hon! I think Ginny might be able to manage some flood control, though I'd warn any smart wizards to steer clear of Hermione shores until the wind and waves subside further. I would, that is, if the plot weren't better served by letting them find out the hard way...
Kudos, by the way, on being the first to correctly identify the recipient of Ginny's call! We'll see shortly what-- if anything--he can accomplish!

*sniff* Severus' talk with Albus was almost getting serious there, but you saved it with the timely addition of procreation :D Loving this, it took my mind off things until the pain-killers kicked in this morning. I can't believe I'd managed to skip the original until I saw your sequel. Just gotta love a Jarvey :)

Author's Response: Thank you kindly--I was hoping I got the right balance of heart and laughs in there. Golly, hon--hope it's nothing too serious! They do say laughter is the best medicine, so I'll try to get another dose to you soon!

Author's Response: Thank you! The wait shouldn't be too long. :-)

I don't know someone like Ron, I am someone like Ron. So I know exactly what you're talking about. Unfortunately. Thanks for the quick update!

Author's Response: You're most welcome! I'm firmly of the opinion that the world needs 'Rons,' too! How else would the Harrys of the world have partners in crime, or the Hermiones someone to drag them out of the library once in a while? :-)
