Oh gosh! Angsty! A bit confusing between the three timers you set up but it's wonderful! When will you undate? I can't wait!

Author's Response: i am glad you like the story. i haven't had much time lately to do any writing. i am sorry for that. but within the next two weeks there should be at least ONE up-date. except for when life interferes with writing again. thanks for the lovely review. i hope the three timelines will be far less confusing once they have merged into the one overall story-line.

I cannot believe that I forgot to review this story! It's absolutely one of my favorites. The action, the suspense, the illicit passion between Severus and Hermione all make for very stimulating and enjoyable reading. As far as Hermione's likeability goes... I vacillate. She didn't start out liking Severus, but gradually that's what happened. I think she did try to cling to her family, but was simply inexplicably drawn to Snape. However, it still irks me (and I'm ITCHING to find out why) that the apparent fruit of their relationship is a Weasley. ***Sigh*** Hopefully that can be remedied and we can get poor, tortured and tormented Hermione and Severus together in the end. FANTASTIC JOB and I can't wait for the next update. This is one of the best stories on this archive.

Author's Response: you sure know how to flatter me! :D

when i started maping the story, i very early went for an approach that i very rarely see in many snarmony stories. i wanted to write them in a way that showed that hermione and snape weren't too keen on each other at first. and even so far into the story, there's still some doubt as for how deep their emotions run. the problem is that they can't give voice to their love -- if you can call it that.

as far as the "weasley-fruit" is concerned: don't worry. perdita only carries ron's family name. all further biological relations end right there ;D however, i must tell you that when perdita said that hermione was killed by lucius, she meant it. otherwise the girl wouldn't have been there in the first place. sorry, can't tell more on the subject of the whereabouts.

thanks again for the lovely, lovely review. it's always a pleasure to hear form you.

I'm so glad for Severus that he could get some spots of happiness in a doomed existence.

Author's Response: i do feel a little guilt-ridden by now. what have i done to the poor man? torture, loss of hearing, homeless, hunted after for two thirds of his sorry life. i hope the occassional shag cheers him up. thanks for being a faithful reviewer.

Talk about ratcheting up the suspense! Good grief. Brilliant innovation, on your part, as well as his, the way Lucius has "bent" the Dark Mark to obey his will. How wicked that "tuning in" to the Mark will take the Death Eater from one scene of devastation to another and another and another. Thank God Severus was finally able to break away from the stranglehold the Mark had on his ability to Disapparate away from the carnage.

The most poignant line in the whole chapter was, "Snape had ceased to be a brave man a long time ago." This is not the larger-than-life, dashing, heroic fanon Snape (Subversa is judged and found guilty of writing fanon Snape!) -- this is a wizard, a man, who long ago found out what his limitations are. He is flawed, but he does not quit. Though all the horrors of his life, he has not quit.

You *know* how I feel about the flashbacks. I am happy for Severus -- and a little sad for James -- that Lily permitted him this one good bye kiss, and even kissed back. His abandonment of his Slytherin tendencies and adoption of Gryffindor bravado came at just the right moment for him to get what he wanted and needed from Lily. I swear that my next story is going to be about them!

Hermione too, is flawed. You do not idealize her. They are a deeply damaged couple who find some meaning and solace in one another. You don't have to like them, or agree with them, to sympathize with their plight. Brava, darlin'. As we say in Texas, you done good. ;) P.S. Don’t let my betas see me “talking” like that…

Author's Response: first things first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

here's how inspiration works for me: i take a shower, and in the hot water i get ideas like, 'hey! why not send snape from one mugging to the next, because the Luscious came up with something new.' tells you something about the sorry state of my mind... and of course i had ot have snape escape (oops, a rhyme), because i still had a shag for him in store. and the story needs about three or four more chapters till it's finished.

the whole bravery-issue is completely stolen from HBP, only that i reversed it. his slytherin-side has finally won over the little that lily had taught him while they had been friends.

i can't wait to see a snily by subversa. but, please, remember: there were only four marauders, lily and one shy slytherin (a contradiction in terms). ;D

i hope that hermione is still likeable enough, especially when you consider what she does to snape to hide him. and don't worry, i won't link to your reviews for this story! :D big hugs and
HB! again.

Very scary, how Lucius modified the Dark Mark on Severus' arm. I just hope that doesn't enable Lucius to find Severus easier. Well, is this the last time Severus "escapes" from confinement against Hermione's wishes? Too close - he could've gotten killed! Thanks for updating.

Author's Response: don't worry, it's not snape who kicks the bucket in this story. i am glad you found this a bit scary. i was actually thinking for ages HOW he apparated from one scene to the next, until insoiration caught up with me in the shower. thanks for the review -- and thanks for not suggesting again that i should kill ron, too. ;D

Close call there! Poor Snape was almost in even more trouble. I love the flashbacks to his past. I am so glad to see an update for this wonderful story. Thanks!

Author's Response: With he 'was almost in even more trouble', do you mean if hermione had found out? on saturday easter break starts for me. it shouldn't take too long for an up-date. not unless i get carried away again, of course. thanks for the lovely review.

Don't wait too long to update! I have to see where this winds up!

Author's Response: don't worry. easter break is just around the bend. two weeks at most till the next chapter is out. or so i think. :D
