| Aaaahwaaaaaah! This is so horribly, wrenchingly sad! Let Hermione die with dignity, all of you! Don't put her through this anymore! (Poor girl, she suffers so in these fanfics!) Good job of writing, though... Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, she really suffers much in fanfiction... But then, sometimes she just seems to beg for it. She's a person who is so very intelligent, and someone of whom I think is capable of so much feeling, that I can't but let her suffer, from time to time, that is. Sometimes, I write them the other way round, though - Severus having to come to terms with something, or her already dead. Whether that is not as bad as what I put her through in here, remains to be judged by every reader for her-(or him-)self. Thanks for reviewing! | |||

anyways, what I actually wanted to say is, that I agree with
Brisinggammen about the song fic thing and also about the detail thing, cause that's what I don't like about one shots....
I hope for you that at the time you read this you can be proud of yourself for not being late for my little break! otherwise my head is overheated long ago and that really is not a good thing, is it?

| The thing about songfics (am now comenting a bit on a another rewiev to this fic as well) is that if you do not know the song the lyrics often seem artificial or redundant and sometimes even silly. Usually I just skip them when I read the fic. However it makes me sad that some should feel the genre underrated - I like to think it just a "speciality" (in want for a better word) you either get or dont (a bit like the SS/HG ship actually).
Having said all that - I found this beautiful. Some powerful emotions are very precisely described and interesting relations between the characters are hinted at. How many did Dumbledore manipulate? What does hermione feel about it? Why does Ginny sing lullabyes? Is this a result of the final battle - who won? Who lives? The questions are many and you could have written a lot more - but it works well as it is. So even whilst I am one of those who rarely get the song fics - I would definately read another one of yours if I see it....
Author's Response: Oh my, a discussion! Lol. Most people don't have a powerful relation to music and the emotions it evokes... Most sad songs, even if I DON't know the music, only the lyrics, can make me think. Angsty songfics often make me cry. To me, it doesn't matter to know the song itself. I can't describe it... But I guess that's a special thing about me ;-) Anyways, thank you very much! As I said before, this piece was something that came to me all of a sudden. I needed a bit of stress relief. Even if had I wanted to, I wouldn't have been able to do more with this - I wasn't able to think clearly anymore. By the way, IF you'd like to read something else by me... you can go to my account page. I've written two more songfics for the HG/SS ship, and at Occlumency you can find two other one-shots (lyrics included). I'd be flattered if you'd read and review them! Thank you again! | It took me a bit of thinking to "get" this one. But when I did, I appreciated the subtlety. "At least he hasn't asked me to fight to live." She won't actively seek death, because he made her promise not to, but she won't do anything to prolong her life, either. Very Slytherin of her! I like this a lot. Thank you for sharing. Author's Response: Thank YOU for reviewing! That's why there's no suicide warning for this, actually. No, she doesn't do anything to herself, she just doesn't want to live anymore, and without a will for life, there's only so much you can do... | I loved it! There should have been more to it, but as far as one shots go, it was great! I love the song, so anything with that group and HP stuff in it and it's bound to be a hit with me.... great job!!! Author's Response: Thank you! I'd have liked making it longer, too, but alas, this was just somehting to relieve the stress I've endured the past weeks, and my brain was so empty I just couldn't produce more.
