Reviews for Dark Desecration

That a WOMAN should have the attitude that women entice men into raping them is appalling. If this notion has any validity, then are prostitutes unable to be raped? Rape is rape, and there is no excuse for the act, no matter the situation. Same goes for any sort of attempted sex act. Women have the freedom to say no, at any time. Sexy clothes and flirtation is not pemission for sex. Your story has been wonderful to read. Thank you for not glorifying rape.

Author's Response: I agree. Anyone who thinks that way are simply mental. I think a person should be comfortable in their own skin and clothing and not have to worry about some pervs wanting to have a go. Thank you for reading. :)

Hi, Just wanted to say that this is a fascinating story. I am somewhat familiar with sexual abuse (not personally), and think this story really shows a plausible scenario. Snape's just bad enough, and just regretful enough to make it... well, plausible. :) He's clearly a rather disturbed person, but not enough so that he didn't realize the wrongness of it all towards the end. I could see Hermione feeling she had to accept his advances, and Poppy's comments really didn't help. All in all, fascinating, disturbing story. I was surprised at Harry's restraint at not finishing it, though I do agree that what he read sounded like a love letter. It's nice that he respects her enough to do that. I wonder if she will ever tell him the nature of their relationship? It's not like he needs to know, but does she need to tell him? perhaps she will, at some point, so that he understands. Who knows! Again, fascinating, disturbing... awesome. Wonderful work!

Author's Response: In my mind, she does evenutally tell Harry, just in her own time. It's not someting one really wants to talk about right away, so when the time's right, then it comes out. :) It was a sad situation all aound. Thank you for your comments and for reading. :)

This story brought me to tears. I love Harry. The way you wrote his character makes him more of a man, and a hero than perceived in JKR's books. Maybe this isn't her story, but it sure as Hell is A story, and a good one at that. I hope all of your future and existing relationships bring you happiness, and that you share nothing but trust and faith in your friends and family.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I appreciate the kind words. I'm a Harry fan, and I like seeing him portrayed as a "man."

I've just re-read this very powerful story, and it's as wrenching as it ever was. Snape goes from indifference tinged with malice, to delusions that his victim is 'enjoying it,' to realization and finally remorse. It's reassuring that he tries eventually to make amends to Hermione, who even has a measure of compassion for him at the end. Very moving.

Of course, during his delusional days he mistakes Poppy's behavior for envy: "I see the glares she sends your way, and I see the smiles she flashes at me. This is amusing to me. She should know that I’d never want anything to do with her." Gah... She's only glad it isn't HER on the receiving end of his attentions, although there's probably envy directed against Hermione for not having been brutalized as well as violated, the way Poppy herself was. There may be a little Stockholm Syndrome bubbling along in there as well. Human beings have some highly complex reactions to having been in abusive situations. Again, this is a great story. Well worth a re-visit.

Author's Response: You've got it right. Poppy didn't want anything to do with him at all. LOL... Thanks for the comments! I appreciate them.

I understand completely your reasoning for this story, and your writing for it. I enjoyed it, as I always enjoy your work. Harry's portion of this story I found to be the most beautiful, and the most touching.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading. I enjoyed that part as well. Many people are greatly biased where Harry is concerned, but I don't mind. Thanks!
