Reviews for Dark Desecration

Wow, this chapter sure shut up the "It would never happen" and "Why doesn't she hex him" camps, didn't it? Good riddance. One thing that resonated with me was the lack of empathy Snape shows. Classic sexual perpetrator behavior (though by no means a universal characteristic). And, whenever he does feel a twinge of pity or similar emotion (like when Minerva opens her eyes and he can't kill her), he quickly twists the situation so that whatever "good" he does ultimately benefits himself. At least, I think, he isn't trying to convince her (or himself) that he is in love with her. That's the worst, when abuse is all mixed up with pseudo-romance. His motives-- superiority, power, control--make more sense. But let's face it,I have no idea why someone would do such a thing, and likely never will.

Author's Response: Yeah, at least now we see why Hermione isn't fighting him off. He definitely doesn't lover her. She's just something he controls. However, I wonder how he'll feel if he lost that control one day? That would be interesting.

I liked it. Really, I did. I mean, not that I *like* the scenario or anything...but you pretty much hit the nail on the head. It's kind of nice to see it talked about, actually. By "it" I mean the conflicting emotions that accompany sexual abuse, most notably the confusion over any physical pleasure you feel. I don't find it implausible that Hermione would eventually start to openly respond to his advances, as it's what I did. You kind of rationalize it by saying, "well, he's gonna do it anyway, so I may as well get out of it what I can." Because that way, you can make yourself believe you actually have some control over the situation. It's fucked up, but it happens.

Author's Response: I know exactly what you mean. Some of the tales I read wiht rapes leave me saying, "WTF?" after. I'm glad I was able to convey her feelings as I did to all. Our bodies don't always agree with our minds! More up in a couple of minutes.

well, i cannot say i've ever been in that situation... but i DO know what it feels like to be sated by one that you hate... and it is a pretty shitty feeling. I like this different point of view and plot, sure its sinister and morbid, but i never was one for the pink fluffy feelings when dealing with Sevie-kins.

Author's Response: It's a very shitty feeling and makes you wonder what's wrong with you. Thank you!

Wow! What a creepy little story. It's very off-putting, but in a good sort of way. I always enjoy when Dark!Snape is well written. Best, Natasha

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I don't mind Dark!Snape all that much either.

I just have something more to add to my earlier review: Would the bastard really *want* Hermione to start enjoying his raping of her just because it would get him more excited? Or would her pleasure--feigned, it would be--be a detriment to him and he finds he can no longer perform because she is *enjoying*it so much? I have no idea. This story is really disturbing, but it is well-written and has generated some serious internal dialogue for me. Kudos, diva!

Author's Response: I think he would be excited to make someone that loathes him have screaming orgasms. It would probably be like an accomplishment. I can hear the asshole now, "Ahahaha. She wants me, though she's trying not to." What you say does make sense though... I wonder if it would lose appeal if she appeared to eagerly want him. It likely would to some extent, though he'd probably still want an occasional shag. Hmmm...

This will strange very weird but I actually don't hate Snape in this. I think that is because you have painted the picture so well, and gone into the emotional stuff on his side so well. I know he's evil rather than mentally unwell (or at least they how he seems) but the voice you've given him is almost reasonable. That actually scares me most, that he someone who abuses could sound almost reasonable. Shudder. It feels like you're digging deep into some powerful emotions here, it seems almost cathartic.

Author's Response: It's quite cathartic for me. I had the displeasure of experiencing unwanted advances, and I can only truly imagine why people do this. I mostly come up with lust or the desire to overpower someone. I twisted that some and tried to put Snape as this person. Thank you. More up shortly.

Yikes. Poor Hermione. That is actually quite in character for Snape, the bastard, at his worst. I really would like to see Hermione get away from him, and pay him back. Bastard. Good fic, though, because it made me MAD. Which is prob exactly what it was supposed to do.

Author's Response: I believe this would be him at his worst, too. I won't leave her stuck there and am planning a way for her to leave.

Interesting that he seems to want her positive acknowlegement of him, as well as more receptive reactions. Might he start to care for her inspite of himself? If he does, it would be even more of a punishment for him, when/if she escapes his advances or gets revenge somehow.

Author's Response: I think that one day he will feel guilty about his deeds. The next chapter shows a little insight from someone else, but he's still not found a "conscience" yet. Hermione still feels the same.
